6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your popcorn machine. Always unplug the machine and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

  • Kettle Cleaning: The stainless steel kettle can be removed for easy cleaning. Wipe the interior with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners that may scratch the surface.
  • Interior Cleaning: Wipe down the tempered glass food zones and the heated deck with a damp cloth. For stubborn oil residue, a glass cleaner or a solution of water and vinegar can be used.
  • Unpopped Kernel Tray: The machine features a tray for unpopped kernels. Regularly empty and clean this tray to prevent accumulation.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces of the machine and cart with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Ensure all parts are thoroughly dry before reassembling or storing the machine.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your popcorn machine, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • Machine Not Turning On: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a functional 120V outlet. Check if the circuit breaker has tripped.
  • Kettle Not Heating: Verify that the kettle heater switch is in the 'ON' position. Allow sufficient time for preheating (3-5 minutes).
  • Popcorn Not Popping: Ensure you are using fresh popcorn kernels. The oil-to-kernel ratio might need adjustment. Make sure the kettle is properly heated.
  • Burnt Popcorn: Ensure the kettle is dumped immediately once popping stops to prevent kernels from burning on the hot surface. Adjust the amount of oil or kernels if consistently burning.
  • Excess Unpopped Kernels: Ensure the stirrer is active during popping. Adjust the oil and kernel amounts.
