Model 570S User Manual

70" x 70" High-Resolution Matte Surface

Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the proper setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Quartet Portable Tripod Projection Screen, Model 570S. This 70" x 70" screen features a high-resolution matte white surface designed for clear image projection and comes with a sturdy tripod stand for freestanding use. Please read these instructions carefully before use to ensure optimal performance and product longevity.

Safety Information

  • Ensure the tripod is placed on a stable, level surface to prevent tipping.
  • Do not expose the screen material to sharp objects, excessive heat, or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
  • Keep the screen away from open flames or heat sources as the material is flame retardant but not fireproof.
  • When adjusting the screen height, ensure hands are clear of moving parts to prevent pinching.
  • Store the screen in its retracted position and the tripod folded when not in use to prevent damage.

Package Contents

Verify that all components are present before proceeding with setup:

  • Quartet Portable Tripod Projection Screen (Model 570S)
  • Integrated Tripod Stand

Setup Instructions

  1. Unpack the Screen: Carefully remove the projection screen assembly from its packaging.
  2. Set Up the Tripod:

Place the screen case horizontally on the floor. Extend the three legs of the tripod stand outwards until they are fully spread and stable. Ensure the tripod is balanced and firm.

  3. Raise the Screen:

Locate the handle or pull-tab on the top edge of the screen housing. Gently pull the screen upwards from its casing. The screen will extend on smooth-rolling springs.

  4. Secure the Screen:

Once the screen is extended to the desired height, secure it using the locking mechanism, typically a hook or latch that attaches to the top bar of the screen and the tripod pole. Ensure the screen is taut and wrinkle-free.

  5. Adjust Height (Optional):

If your model allows, adjust the height of the screen by loosening the locking collar on the tripod pole, raising or lowering the screen to the desired position, and then tightening the collar securely.

Operating Instructions

  • Extending the Screen: Follow step 3 and 4 from the Setup Instructions to extend and secure the screen for use.
  • Retracting the Screen:

To retract, gently release the locking mechanism that holds the screen to the tripod pole. Guide the screen slowly back into its casing. Do not allow the screen to snap back quickly, as this can cause damage.

  • Optimal Viewing: For best image quality, ensure the projector is aligned squarely with the screen and the room lighting is controlled to minimize glare.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Screen Surface:

Use a soft, damp cloth with mild soap and water to gently wipe the matte white surface. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, which can damage the screen material. Allow the screen to air dry completely before retracting.

  • Cleaning the Tripod:

Wipe the metal parts of the tripod with a clean, dry cloth. If necessary, use a slightly damp cloth to remove dirt, then dry thoroughly.

  • Storage:

Always retract the screen fully into its casing and fold the tripod legs before storing. Store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Screen does not retract smoothly. Mechanism obstruction or dirt. Gently pull the screen down slightly, then guide it back up. Ensure no foreign objects are blocking the retraction path. Do not force retraction.
Image appears distorted or uneven. Projector not aligned, or screen not taut. Ensure the projector is centered and perpendicular to the screen. Verify the screen is fully extended and secured, and the tripod is level.
Tripod feels unstable. Legs not fully extended or on uneven surface. Confirm all three tripod legs are fully extended and locked into position. Move the screen to a flat, stable surface.
