1. Introduction

The SVP FS1200 Digital Film Scanner is designed to convert your 35mm color and monochrome negatives, as well as mounted slides, into digital images. 4. Setup

4.1 System Requirements

• Operating System: Windows 7 or earlier (Windows XP recommended by some users for better compatibility).
• USB Port: Available USB 2.0 port.
• Note: This device is not compatible with Mac operating systems.

4.2 Software Installation

1. Insert the provided Software CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers and the user application. If the installer does not launch automatically, navigate to the CD drive in "My Computer" and run the setup file (e.g., "setup.exe").
3. Restart your computer if prompted after installation.

4.3 Connecting the Scanner

3. The scanner will power on automatically. The "PWR" indicator light on the scanner should illuminate.

4.4 Loading Film or Slides

Use the appropriate holder for your media type:

For 35mm Film Strips:

1. Open the film strip holder.
2. Carefully place your 35mm film strip into the holder, ensuring the frames align with the openings.
3. Close the holder securely.

For Mounted Slides:

1. Open the slide holder.
2. Insert up to three mounted slides into the designated slots.
3. Close the holder securely.

Once the film/slide holder is loaded, gently insert it into the scanner's slot until it clicks into place or is fully seated.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Launching the Software

After connecting the scanner and installing the software, launch the SVP FS1200 scanning application from your computer's Start Menu or desktop shortcut.

5.2 Previewing and Scanning

1. In the software interface, select the appropriate media type (Negative Film or Slide).
2. Click the "Preview" button to see a low-resolution preview of your film/slide. This allows you to check framing and orientation.
3. Use the navigation controls within the software to move to the next frame or slide in the holder.
