1. Introduction

The D-Link DAP-1360 Wireless N Access Point is a versatile networking device designed to extend or create a wireless network. It connects to a broadband modem, allowing you to share your internet connection wirelessly. 3. Setup

3.1 Physical Installation

  1. Positioning: Place the DAP-1360 in a central location within your desired wireless coverage area, away from obstructions and sources of interference (e.g., microwave ovens, cordless phones).
  2. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the DAP-1360's power port and then into a wall outlet. The power LED on the device should illuminate.
  3. Connect to Network: Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the DAP-1360 and the other end to your broadband modem or existing network switch/router.

3.2 Initial Configuration

After physical installation, you will need to configure the DAP-1360 using a web browser. The exact steps may vary slightly depending on your chosen operating mode.

  1. Connect a Computer: Temporarily connect a computer directly to the DAP-1360's LAN port using an Ethernet cable, or connect wirelessly to its default Wi-Fi network (SSID and password usually found on a label on the device).
  2. Access Web Interface: Open a web browser and enter the default IP address of the DAP-1360 (e.g., http://192.168.0.50 or http://dlinkap). Refer to the Quick Installation Guide for the precise default IP and login credentials.
  3. Login: Enter the default username and password (e.g., username: admin, password: [leave blank] or admin).
  4. Run Setup Wizard: Follow the on-screen setup wizard to select your desired operating mode and configure network settings, including Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password.
  5. Save Settings: Apply and save your configuration changes. The device may restart.
