Setup and First Use
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all components are present.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, clean the thermal carafe, filter basket, and permanent GoldTone filter with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
- Feeder Channel Preparation: As per manufacturer instructions, ensure the GoldTone filter is inserted in the Filter Insert. With a pointed tip, push the small pin in the window down and slide the plastic cover forward. Wipe the inside clean with a dry cloth, removing any remnants from the feeder channel. Replace the feeder channel cover.
- Water Fill: Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water up to the desired cup marking. Do not overfill.
- Bean Fill (for Grind & Brew): Add whole coffee beans to the bean hopper. The hopper can hold enough beans for a full 10-cup brew.
- Filter Placement: Place the clean GoldTone filter (or a paper filter) into the filter basket.
- First Brew Cycle (without coffee): Run a full brew cycle with only water to clean the internal components. Discard the water after the cycle.
Operating Instructions
The Capresso CoffeeTeam TS offers versatile brewing options:
Grind & Brew Function
This function allows the coffeemaker to automatically grind whole beans and then brew coffee.
- Ensure water is in the tank and beans are in the hopper.
- Press the MODE button until the 'GRIND/BREW' indicator light is illuminated.
- Use the 2-10 button to select the number of cups you wish to grind (this determines the amount of coffee ground, not necessarily the final brewed volume).
- Press the AROMA button to adjust coffee strength (light, medium, dark).
- Press the ON/OFF button to start the brewing process. The coffeemaker will first grind the selected amount of beans, then proceed with brewing.
Brew Only Function (for Pre-Ground Coffee)
If you prefer to use pre-ground coffee, follow these steps:
- Add desired amount of pre-ground coffee to the filter basket.
- Press the MODE button until the 'BREW' indicator light is illuminated.
- Press the ON/OFF button to start brewing.
Programming for Automatic Brewing
Set the coffeemaker to automatically brew at a specific time:
- Set the current time using the H (Hour) and M (Minute) buttons.
- Press the PROG button. The display will show 'PROG'.
- Use the H and M buttons to set your desired brew time.
- Select 'GRIND/BREW' or 'BREW' mode and the desired cup amount/aroma settings.
- Press the PROG button again to confirm. The 'PROG' indicator light will remain on.
Sneak-a-Cup Feature
The thermal carafe can be removed during the brewing cycle to pour a cup of coffee. The drip stop mechanism will temporarily halt the flow of coffee. Replace the carafe within 20 seconds to prevent overflow.

Maintenance
Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and taste:
- Carafe and Filter Basket: Wash daily with warm, soapy water. The thermal carafe is not dishwasher safe.
- Feeder Channel: The manufacturer recommends regular cleaning of the feeder channel to prevent clogs, especially with oily beans. To clean, ensure the GoldTone filter is inserted. With a pointed tip, push the small pin in the window down and slide the plastic cover forward. Wipe the inside clean with a dry cloth, removing any remnants. Replace the feeder channel cover.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the coffeemaker in water.
Descaling
Mineral deposits from water can affect performance and taste. Descale your coffeemaker regularly (e.g., every 2-4 months, depending on water hardness). Use a commercial descaling solution or a mixture of white vinegar and water (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water). Run a brew cycle with the descaling solution, then run several cycles with fresh water to rinse thoroughly.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your coffeemaker, refer to the following common problems:
- Coffee not brewing: Check if the unit is plugged in, the water tank is filled, and the carafe is correctly placed.
- Grinder not working: Ensure the bean hopper is not empty and the feeder channel is not clogged. Clean the feeder channel as described in the Maintenance section.
- Weak coffee: Adjust the AROMA setting to a darker bean icon for stronger coffee. Ensure you are using the correct amount of coffee for the water volume.
- Overflow: Do not overfill the water tank. Ensure the carafe is properly seated and the drip stop is not blocked.
