Introduction

The Logitech Wireless Presenter R400 is designed to enhance your presentations with intuitive controls and a bright red laser pointer. Its 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity allows you to move freely up to 50 feet away from the receiver, providing flexibility and greater impact during your talks. This device offers a smooth and simple way to navigate through your slides with easy-to-find controls.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

The R400 requires 2 AAA batteries for operation. To install or replace batteries:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the presenter.
2. Slide open the battery cover.
3. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Close the battery cover securely.

2. Connecting the Wireless Mini-Receiver

The R400 uses a plug-and-play USB receiver. No software installation is required.

1. Remove the wireless mini-receiver from its storage slot at the bottom of the presenter.
2. Plug the mini-receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
3. The presenter should automatically connect to your computer.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

Locate the ON/OFF switch on the side of the presenter. Slide it to the 'ON' position to power on the device and to 'OFF' when not in use to conserve battery life.

Button Functions

The R400 features intuitive controls for seamless presentation navigation:

• Laser Pointer Button: Press and hold to activate the bright red laser pointer. Release to turn off.
• Next Slide (>) Button: Press to advance to the next slide in your presentation.
• Previous Slide (<) Button: Press to go back to the previous slide in your presentation.
• Start Presentation Button: Initiates the slideshow from the current slide.
• Black Screen Button: Toggles the screen black, useful for drawing audience attention back to you. Press again to resume the presentation.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator light turns red or the presenter's performance degrades, it's time to replace the batteries. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section under Setup for detailed steps.

Cleaning

Wipe the presenter with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Troubleshooting

• Presenter not responding:
  • Ensure the mini-receiver is securely plugged into a USB port.
  • Check if the presenter is powered on (ON/OFF switch).
  • Replace the batteries if the battery indicator is low or off.
  • Try plugging the mini-receiver into a different USB port on your computer.
• Laser pointer not working:
  • Ensure the presenter is powered on.
  • Press and hold the laser pointer button firmly.
  • Verify that the surface you are pointing at is suitable for laser projection (some screens or glass surfaces may not show the laser well).
• Limited wireless range:
  • Ensure there are no major obstructions (e.g., walls, large metal objects) between the presenter and the receiver.
  • Move closer to the computer if experiencing interference.
