2. Safety Information

3. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present before beginning installation:

• Note: Escutcheons and anchors are NOT included and must be purchased separately.

4. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the safety and stability of your handrail. It is recommended that installation be performed by a qualified professional.

4.1. Handrail Dimensions

Retrofitting onto Existing Deck:

• Core drill a 6-inch diameter hole for a standard bronze or 5-inch diameter hole for a universal anchor at least ½ inch deeper than the anchor depth.
• Clean and completely dry the hole with a pipe cleaner and shop vacuum.
• Ensure that the drain hole at the bottom of the anchor is not plugged to prevent corrosion. Refer to Figure 3.
• Set anchor flush with deck with wedge oriented away from pool. Refer to Figure 3.
• Bond anchor to existing rebar in deck. Make sure to follow NEC or local building codes.
• Use either epoxy or compression cement with a minimum of 3,000 PSI. Epoxy or cement not included.
• Allow epoxy or cement to cure per manufacturer's instructions.

New Construction:

• Set anchor flush with the deck with wedge oriented away from pool. Refer to Figure 3.
• Bond anchor to rebar in deck. Make sure to follow NEC or local building codes.
• Pour concrete with minimum compression strength of 3,000 PSI. Concrete not included.
• Allow cement to cure per manufacturer's instructions.
• Install the ladder or rail into the anchor.

Replacing an Existing Rail:

• Measure existing rail dimensions. See "Getting the Right Fit" in Figure 3.
• Determine your replacement rail.
• Remove existing ladder or rail from anchors by untightening the wedge.
• Install new ladder or rail into existing anchors.

4.3. Anchor Placement

The tables below outline the distance between anchors and the minimum anchor setback. Before installing, make sure to follow NEC or local building codes.

5. Operating Instructions

• Corrosion Prevention: Although made of 304 grade stainless steel, prolonged exposure to harsh pool chemicals or saltwater can lead to surface corrosion (rusting). Apply a stainless steel cleaner or polish periodically to maintain its protective layer and shine. Pay special attention to areas near the water line or where the rail enters the deck.
• Inspection: Periodically check all connection points and the rail itself for any signs of looseness, cracks, pitting, or discoloration. Address any issues promptly.
• Winterization: If the pool is winterized, consider removing the handrail for storage in a dry, protected area to prevent exposure to freezing temperatures and harsh winter conditions.

• Handrail is Loose:

  Ensure the anchors are properly secured in the deck. If using wedge anchors, ensure the wedges are tightened. If the issue persists, professional re-installation or anchor replacement may be required.

• Rust Spots Appearing:

  Despite being stainless steel, surface rust can occur due to environmental factors or improper chemical balance in the pool. Clean the affected area with a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner and a soft cloth. For persistent rust, consult a pool professional. Ensure proper pool chemistry is maintained.

• Difficulty Installing:
