Introduction
The VocoPro MARK-CV1 is a professional dynamic vocal microphone designed for clear and reliable audio capture. It features a cardioid polar pattern, which helps to isolate the main sound source and minimize background noise, making it ideal for vocal performances and presentations. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your MARK-CV1 microphone.

Setup Instructions
- Connect the Microphone Cable: Insert the 3-pin XLR connector of the microphone cable into the XLR output port at the base of the MARK-CV1 microphone. Ensure a secure connection.
- Connect to Audio Equipment: Connect the other end of the XLR cable to an input on your audio mixer, PA system, or other compatible audio interface. Ensure the input is set to accept a microphone-level signal.
- Position the Microphone: Mount the microphone on a suitable microphone stand (not included) using a standard microphone clip. Position the microphone appropriately for your intended use, typically 6-12 inches from the sound source for vocals.
- Power On Audio Equipment: Turn on your audio mixer or PA system.
Note: The VocoPro MARK-CV1 is a dynamic microphone and does not require phantom power. Ensure phantom power is turned off on your mixer's input channel if it is available, to prevent potential damage to other equipment or unexpected noise.
Operating the Microphone
- On/Off Switch: The MARK-CV1 microphone is equipped with an on/off switch located on the microphone body. Slide the switch to the "ON" position to activate the microphone. Slide it to the "OFF" position when not in use to prevent unwanted noise or feedback.
- Gain Adjustment: Adjust the gain (input level) on your audio mixer or interface to achieve an optimal signal level without clipping or distortion. Start with the gain low and gradually increase it while speaking or singing into the microphone.
- Proximity Effect: Due to its cardioid polar pattern, the microphone exhibits a proximity effect, meaning bass response increases as the microphone is moved closer to the sound source. Experiment with distance to achieve the desired tonal balance.
- Feedback Prevention: Position the microphone behind the main loudspeakers to minimize the risk of audio feedback. If feedback occurs, reduce the gain, adjust microphone position, or use equalization on your mixer.
Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the microphone body with a soft, dry cloth. For the grille, use a soft brush to remove dust or debris. Do not use liquid cleaners directly on the microphone.
- Storage: When not in use, store the microphone in its protective carrying pouch to shield it from dust, moisture, and physical damage.
- Handling: Avoid dropping the microphone or subjecting it to strong impacts, as this can damage the internal components.
- Environmental Conditions: Do not expose the microphone to extreme temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight for extended periods.
