Setup and Connection
Follow these steps to properly connect the small cuff to your compatible Omron blood pressure monitor:
- Unpack the Cuff: Carefully remove the cuff from its packaging. Ensure all components, including any necessary adapters, are present.
- Identify the Air Plug: Locate the air plug at the end of the air tube extending from the cuff.
- Connect to Monitor: Insert the air plug firmly into the air jack on your Omron blood pressure monitor. Ensure a secure connection to prevent air leakage during measurement.

If your monitor requires a different adapter, use one of the provided adapters to ensure a proper fit. The cuff typically comes with multiple adapter options to ensure broad compatibility with listed Omron models.
Operating Instructions: Applying the Cuff
Accurate blood pressure measurement depends on correct cuff application. Follow these guidelines:
- Prepare for Measurement: Sit quietly for 5 minutes before taking a measurement. Ensure your arm is relaxed and supported at heart level.
- Position the Cuff: Slide your arm through the cuff loop. The air tube should run down the inside of your arm. The bottom edge of the cuff should be 1-2 cm (0.5-1 inch) above your elbow.
- Align the Mark: Align the "INDEX" mark on the cuff with the center of your inner arm, over your brachial artery.
- Secure the Cuff: Wrap the cuff snugly around your arm. The fabric fastener should be secure but not overly tight. There should be enough space to insert one finger between the cuff and your arm.
- Check Fit: Ensure the cuff fits within the indicated range on the cuff itself (17-22 cm). If your arm circumference falls outside this range, this cuff is not suitable for accurate measurement.

Once the cuff is correctly applied, proceed with taking a measurement according to the instructions provided with your specific Omron blood pressure monitor.
Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the cuff surface gently with a soft, dry cloth. If necessary, use a cloth lightly dampened with water and mild soap, then wipe dry. Do not wash the cuff in a washing machine or immerse it in water.
- Storage: Store the cuff in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity. Avoid folding the air tube sharply or placing heavy objects on the cuff.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the cuff and air tube for any signs of damage, such as cracks, tears, or fraying. If damage is observed, discontinue use and replace the cuff.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues related to the cuff, consider the following:
- Cuff not inflating or deflating properly:
- Ensure the air plug is securely connected to the monitor.
- Check the air tube for kinks, cuts, or blockages.
- Verify the cuff is wrapped snugly around the arm; a loose cuff may not inflate correctly.
- Inaccurate readings:
- Confirm the cuff size is appropriate for the arm circumference (17-22 cm).
- Ensure the cuff is positioned correctly on the arm, 1-2 cm above the elbow, with the index mark aligned.
- Avoid talking or moving during measurement.
- Consult your blood pressure monitor's manual for further troubleshooting steps related to the monitor itself.
- Cuff discomfort:
- Ensure the cuff is not wrapped too tightly before inflation.
- If discomfort persists, consult a healthcare professional.
For issues related to the blood pressure monitor itself, refer to the instruction manual provided with your specific Omron blood pressure monitor.
