1. Introduction
The Magellan RoadMate 1470 is a portable GPS navigator designed to provide reliable and efficient navigation for your journeys. 2. What's in the Box
Ensure all the following components are present in your product packaging:

3. Setup
3.1 Charging the Device

3.2 Mounting the Device

3.3 Initial Power-On and Satellite Acquisition

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Entering a Destination
- From the main menu, tap 'Go To' or 'Address'.
- Select your desired input method (e.g., Street Address, Point of Interest).
- Enter the required information using the on-screen keyboard. The QuickSpell feature assists by suggesting names as you type.
- Confirm the address and tap 'Go' to start navigation.
4.2 Using OneTouch Favorites
The Magellan OneTouch favorites menu allows you to bookmark frequently visited destinations or searches for quick access. To add a favorite:
- Navigate to a desired location or search result.
- Tap the 'OneTouch' icon (often a star or similar symbol).
- Follow the on-screen prompts to save the location as a favorite.
Once saved, you can access your favorites directly from the OneTouch menu on the main screen, eliminating the need to re-enter addresses.

4.3 Lane Assist
When approaching complex intersections or highway exits, the Lane Assist feature provides visual guidance, indicating the correct lane to be in. This helps prevent missed turns and ensures smoother navigation.
4.4 Points of Interest (POIs)
The RoadMate 1470 includes 6 million preloaded Points of Interest (POIs), such as restaurants, gas stations, hotels, and attractions. You can search for POIs near your current location, along your route, or near a specific city. The device also features AAA TourBook information for detailed descriptions of attractions and services.
4.5 Multi-Destination Routing
Plan trips with multiple stops by adding several destinations to your route. The device will guide you sequentially through each stop until you reach your final destination.
4.6 Volume and Display Settings
Adjust the navigation voice volume and screen brightness through the device's settings menu. The automatic day/night mode feature adjusts screen brightness for optimal visibility in varying light conditions.
