1. Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective operation, setup, and maintenance of your BLUEROCK CG-30 Straight Line Track Torch Kit. This machine is designed for precise automatic straight cuts and beveled edges on various metal thicknesses. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the equipment to ensure proper use and to prevent injury or damage.
2. Safety Information
Operating cutting equipment involves inherent risks. Adhere to all safety precautions to prevent accidents and ensure personal safety.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear appropriate PPE, including welding helmets or cutting goggles, flame-resistant clothing, heavy-duty gloves, and safety footwear.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation in the work area to disperse fumes and gases produced during cutting.
- Fire Hazards: Keep flammable materials away from the cutting area. Have a fire extinguisher readily available.
- Gas Cylinder Handling: Handle gas cylinders (Oxygen, Acetylene, Propane) with extreme care. Secure them upright and prevent them from falling. Ensure all connections are tight and leak-free.
- Electrical Safety: The machine operates on 120V. Ensure the power cord and connections are in good condition. Do not operate in wet conditions.
- Machine Stability: Ensure the track is stable and properly aligned on a flat, secure surface before operating the machine.
- Genuine Parts: Use only genuine BLUEROCK replacement parts and accessories. The use of non-genuine components may compromise safety and performance.

4. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your BLUEROCK CG-30 machine:
- Assemble the Track: Connect the two 6-foot track sections to achieve the desired cutting length. Ensure the track is straight, stable, and free from obstructions.
- Position the Machine: Carefully place the motorized machine onto the assembled track. Ensure the wheels engage properly with the track rails.
- Attach Torch Holder: Secure the torch holder assembly to the machine. Adjust its position along the horizontal bar as needed for your cutting application.
- Install Torch Head: Mount the torch head assembly into the torch holder. The torch head can be swiveled 360 degrees and locked at various angles for beveling.
- Connect Gas Hoses: Connect your Oxygen and fuel gas (Acetylene or Propane) hoses to the standard B-fittings on the torch head assembly. Ensure all connections are tight and leak-free.
- Insert Cutting Tip: Select the appropriate cutting tip (G02 for Acetylene, G03 for Propane) based on the material thickness and gas type. Securely install it into the torch head.
- Power Connection: Plug the 120V power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Circle Cutting (Optional): If performing circle cuts, attach the circle cutting radius bar and spike to the machine. Adjust the radius bar to achieve the desired circle diameter (8 inches to 6.5 feet).

5. Operating Instructions
Before operating, ensure all safety precautions are understood and followed.
- Adjust Torch Height: Use the vertical adjustable knob on the torch holder to set the correct distance between the cutting tip and the workpiece.
- Set Bevel Angle (if applicable): If beveling, adjust the 360-degree swiveling torch head to the desired angle. The scale on the torch head indicates the angle.
- Open Gas Valves: Slowly open the gas cylinder valves, then adjust the pressure regulators to the recommended settings for your chosen gas and material thickness. Open the preheat oxygen and fuel gas valves on the torch head.
- Ignite Torch: Using a spark lighter, ignite the torch. Adjust the preheat flames to a neutral flame.
- Set Cutting Speed: Use the adjusting speed knob on the control panel to set the desired cutting speed (0-30 inches per minute). Refer to cutting charts for optimal speeds based on material type and thickness.
- Select Direction: Use the directional switch (Forward, Neutral, Reverse) to select the cutting direction.
- Initiate Cut: Once the preheat is sufficient, engage the machine's motor. As the machine moves, depress the cutting oxygen lever to initiate the cut. Maintain a steady cutting speed and observe the cut quality.
- Complete Cut: Allow the machine to complete the cut. Once finished, release the cutting oxygen lever, close the torch valves, and then close the gas cylinder valves.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your CG-30 machine.
- Cleaning: After each use, clean the machine, track, and torch head to remove slag, dust, and debris. Use a soft brush or cloth.
- Track Inspection: Periodically inspect the track sections for straightness, damage, or wear. A warped track can lead to inaccurate cuts.
- Hose and Fitting Check: Regularly inspect gas hoses for cracks, leaks, or damage. Ensure all fittings are secure and free from leaks.
- Cutting Tip Condition: Inspect cutting tips for wear or damage. Replace worn tips to maintain cut quality.
- Lubrication: Apply a small amount of appropriate lubricant to moving parts as recommended by the manufacturer (consult BLUEROCK for specific lubrication guidelines).
- Electrical Connections: Check the power cord and electrical connections for any signs of damage or fraying.
7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Machine does not move or moves erratically | Power issue, track obstruction, motor fault, speed setting too low. | Check power connection. Clear track. Increase speed setting. Inspect motor for damage. |
| Uneven or poor quality cut | Warped track, incorrect speed, worn cutting tip, improper gas pressure, incorrect torch height/angle. | Inspect track for straightness and alignment. Adjust cutting speed. Replace cutting tip. Verify gas pressures. Adjust torch height and angle. |
| Gas leaks | Loose fittings, damaged hoses. | Tighten all gas fittings. Inspect hoses for damage and replace if necessary. Perform a leak test with leak detection solution. |
| Torch flame unstable or difficult to ignite | Clogged cutting tip, incorrect gas mixture/pressure. | Clean or replace cutting tip. Adjust gas pressures according to recommendations. |
