Operation

Playing Audio

  • From Docked Device: Once your iPod or iPhone is docked, select the 'iPod' source using the Source button on the unit or remote. Use your device's controls or the remote to play, pause, skip tracks, and adjust volume.
  • From Auxiliary Input: Connect an external audio device (e.g., iPod Shuffle, MP3 player) to the 3.5mm auxiliary input jack on the unit using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included). Select the 'AUX' source. Control playback from your external device and adjust volume using the unit or remote.

Alarm Clock Functions

The ISP209B features a digital alarm clock with dual alarm settings.

  • Setting Time: Refer to the detailed instructions in your quick start guide for initial time setting.
  • Setting Alarms: You can set two independent alarms. Each alarm can be configured to wake you with either your docked iPod/iPhone music or a buzzer sound. The gradual wake mode increases the alarm volume slowly.
  • Turning Off Alarms: To temporarily silence a sounding alarm, press the 'Alarm Off' button. To disable an alarm permanently or for a specific period (e.g., for the weekend), hold down the 'Alarm Off' button while repeatedly pressing the 'Source' button until the alarm icon disappears from the display.

The included remote control allows convenient operation from a distance. Ensure the battery is inserted correctly.

  • Power: Turns the unit on or off.
  • Mute: Silences the audio output.
  • Source: Cycles through input sources (iPod, AUX).
  • Volume +/-: Adjusts the audio volume.
  • Bass: Adjusts the bass level.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Care: If using batteries, replace all six AA batteries simultaneously when they are depleted. Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Storage: Store the unit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your iLive ISP209B, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Power: Ensure the AC adapter is securely connected to both the unit and a working power outlet. If using batteries, check that they are correctly inserted and not depleted.
  • No Audio from Docked Device: Verify that your iPod/iPhone is securely seated in the dock. Ensure the unit's source is set to 'iPod' and the volume is turned up. Check your device's volume settings. If connection issues persist, try re-seating the device or using the auxiliary input.
  • No Audio from Auxiliary Input: Confirm the 3.5mm audio cable is fully inserted into both the unit's AUX input and your external device. Ensure the unit's source is set to 'AUX' and the volume is turned up. Check your external device's volume.
  • Alarm Not Sounding: Check that the alarm is activated and set to the correct time. Ensure the volume is not set to minimum. Refer to the 'Turning Off Alarms' section if you suspect the alarm has been disabled.
  • Remote Control Not Working: Ensure there is a clear line of sight between the remote and the unit. Check and replace the remote control battery if necessary.
