2. Product Overview

3. Setup and First Use
3.1. Battery Installation and Charging
Your camera uses a KODAK Li-Ion rechargeable digital camera battery KLIC-7001. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the bottom of the camera.
- Insert the KLIC-7001 battery with the contacts facing the correct direction, as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
- Connect the camera to the KODAK USB AC adapter using the provided USB cable for in-camera charging. The charging indicator light will illuminate.
- Charging is complete when the indicator light turns off.
3.2. Memory Card Insertion
The camera supports SD/SDHC memory cards (not included). It also has up to 16 MB of internal memory for immediate use.
- Locate the memory card slot, usually near the battery compartment.
- Insert the SD/SDHC card with the label facing the front of the camera until it clicks into place.
- To remove, press the card gently until it ejects slightly, then pull it out.
3.3. Powering On/Off
Press the power button located on the top of the camera to turn it on or off. The lens will extend when powered on.
4. Basic Operation
4.1. Taking Photos
The M340 captures 10.2-megapixel images, suitable for prints up to 30 x 40 inches.
- Turn on the camera.
- Frame your shot using the 2.7-inch LCD screen.
- Press the shutter button halfway down to focus. The camera will automatically adjust settings using Smart Capture.
- Press the shutter button all the way down to take the picture.
4.2. Recording Videos
Record continuous VGA video (640 x 480) or QVGA (320 x 240) at 24 frames per second.
- Switch to video mode (refer to your camera's mode dial or menu).
- Press the shutter button to start recording.
- Press the shutter button again to stop recording.
4.3. Playback
View your captured photos and videos on the 2.7-inch LCD screen.
- Press the Playback button (often indicated by a triangle icon).
- Use the navigation buttons to scroll through your images and videos.
- The camera supports auto picture rotation for correct orientation.

Add text or sound tags to your pictures directly on the camera for easier organization and searching later with KODAK EasyShare Software.

Create multimedia slideshows with music and effects directly from your camera.
5.6. KODAK PERFECT TOUCH Technology
In manual mode, use KODAK PERFECT TOUCH Technology to enhance pictures, making them brighter and clearing up dark shadows.
