Important Safety Information

Read and understand all instructions and safety warnings before operating this heater. Failure to follow these instructions may result in fire, explosion, electric shock, serious injury, or death.

  • Ventilation: Operate this heater only in well-ventilated areas. Provide at least 3 square feet of fresh air opening for every 100,000 BTU/Hr of heater output.
  • Fuel: Use only K-1 Kerosene, No. 1 Diesel, or No. 1 Fuel Oil. Never use gasoline, crankcase drainings, or other volatile fuels.
  • Clearances: Maintain minimum clearances from combustible materials: Front: 8 feet (2.4 m), Sides: 2 feet (0.6 m), Top: 3 feet (0.9 m).
  • Electrical: Connect the heater to a properly grounded 120V AC, 60 Hz outlet. Do not use extension cords unless they are rated for outdoor use and heavy duty.
  • Supervision: Never leave the heater unattended while operating.
  • Storage: Store fuel in a separate, well-ventilated area away from the heater and other heat sources.

Keep children and pets away from the heater. Do not use the heater in living areas or where flammable vapors may be present.

Setup Instructions

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the heater from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Report any damage immediately to your supplier. Retain packaging for future storage.
  2. Assembly:
    • Attach the wheels to the axle using the provided hardware.
    • Secure the handle assembly to the main frame.
    • Ensure all bolts and nuts are tightened securely.
  3. Placement: Position the heater on a level, non-combustible surface. Ensure adequate clearance from walls, ceilings, and other objects as specified in the safety information. The area must be well-ventilated.
  4. Fueling:
    • Ensure the heater is turned OFF and unplugged before fueling.
    • Remove the fuel cap.
    • Fill the fuel tank with K-1 Kerosene, No. 1 Diesel, or No. 1 Fuel Oil. Do not overfill. Leave some air space.
    • Replace the fuel cap tightly. Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately.
  5. Electrical Connection: Plug the heater into a grounded 120V AC, 60 Hz electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

  1. Pre-Operation Check:
    • Verify adequate ventilation.
    • Confirm proper fuel type and level.
    • Ensure all safety clearances are maintained.
    • Check that the power cord is securely plugged in.
  2. Starting the Heater:
    • Turn the thermostat control knob to the desired temperature setting.
    • Flip the power switch to the "ON" position.
    • The heater fan will start, followed by ignition and flame. Allow a few moments for the heater to stabilize.
  3. Adjusting Temperature: Use the thermostat control knob to increase or decrease the heat output. The heater will cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature.
  4. Shutting Down:
    • Flip the power switch to the "OFF" position.
    • The fan will continue to run for a short period to cool down the combustion chamber. Do not unplug the heater until the fan has stopped.
    • Once the fan stops, unplug the heater from the electrical outlet.

Regular maintenance ensures efficient and safe operation of your heater. Always unplug the heater and allow it to cool completely before performing any maintenance.

  • Daily/Before Each Use:
    • Inspect the power cord for damage.
    • Check for any fuel leaks.
    • Ensure the air intake and exhaust are clear of obstructions.
  • Weekly/Every 50 Hours of Operation:
    • Clean Fan Blades: Remove any dust or debris from the fan blades using a soft brush or compressed air.
    • Clean Fuel Filter: Locate and remove the fuel filter. Clean it with clean fuel or replace if heavily soiled.
  • Monthly/Every 200 Hours of Operation:
    • Inspect Spark Plug: Remove the spark plug, clean any carbon deposits, and check the gap. Replace if worn or damaged.
    • Clean Nozzle: Carefully remove the fuel nozzle and clean it with a soft brush and clean fuel. Do not use metal objects to clean the nozzle orifice.
    • Inspect Photo Cell: Clean the photo cell lens with a cotton swab.
  • Storage:
    • Drain all fuel from the tank. Run the heater until it runs out of fuel to ensure the fuel lines are empty.
    • Clean the heater thoroughly.
    • Store in a dry, dust-free location, away from children and flammable materials.
