Setup
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Verify that all components are present.
- Extend Legs: Place the stand on a flat, stable surface. Fully extend the three single-braced legs until they lock into position, ensuring maximum stability.
- Adjust Height: Loosen the wing nut on the lower tube section. Extend the tube to the desired height and securely tighten the wing nut. Repeat for the upper tube section if further height adjustment is needed.
- Configure Boom or Straight:
- Boom Configuration: Loosen the wing nut at the boom arm pivot. Extend the boom arm to the desired length and angle. Tighten the wing nut firmly to secure the position.
- Straight Configuration: If a straight stand is preferred, the boom arm can be retracted fully into the main tube or removed if designed for such. Ensure the tilter assembly is positioned directly above the main tube.
- Mount Cymbal: Place the bottom felt washer onto the cymbal tilter post, followed by the cymbal. Add the top felt washer and then thread the wing nut onto the post. Tighten the wing nut just enough to hold the cymbal securely without restricting its natural vibration.
Operating
- Height Adjustment: To change the stand's height, loosen the appropriate wing nuts on the tube sections, adjust, and re-tighten. Always ensure the stand remains stable after adjustment.
- Boom Arm Adjustment: The boom arm offers extensive positioning. Loosen the boom arm wing nut to adjust its length and angle. Always re-tighten securely to prevent movement during play.
- Cymbal Angle Adjustment: The cymbal tilter allows for precise angling of your cymbal. Loosen the tilter wing nut, set the desired angle, and re-tighten. Avoid over-tightening, which can damage the cymbal or tilter.
- Memory Locks: Utilize any included memory locks to quickly return to preferred height and boom arm settings after disassembly. Position the memory lock against the collar and tighten its screw.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe down the stand regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. For stubborn grime, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Lubrication: Periodically apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to moving parts such as the boom arm pivot, height adjustment collars, and memory lock mechanisms to ensure smooth operation and prevent seizing.
- Inspection: Regularly check all wing nuts, screws, and bolts for tightness. Inspect rubber feet for wear and tear. Replace any worn felts or plastic sleeves on the cymbal tilter to protect your cymbals.
- Storage: When not in use, collapse the stand to its most compact form and store it in a dry environment to prevent corrosion.
Troubleshooting
- Stand Instability: Ensure all three legs are fully extended and the leg brace wing nut is securely tightened. Verify the stand is on a level surface.
- Cymbal Slippage: Check that the top and bottom felt washers are present and in good condition. Ensure the cymbal wing nut is tightened sufficiently to hold the cymbal without restricting movement.
- Difficulty Adjusting Height or Boom Arm: Loosen the relevant wing nuts completely. Clean any debris from the tubes and apply a small amount of lubricant if necessary. Ensure tubes are not bent or damaged.
- Noisy Operation: Check for loose components. Lubricate moving parts as described in the Maintenance section. Ensure cymbals are mounted correctly with felts to prevent metal-on-metal contact.
