Introduction

Setup

2. Assembly:
   • Attach the pump assembly to the cover. Ensure all connections are secure.
   • Connect the high-pressure hose to the pump outlet.
   • Attach the dispensing nozzle to the end of the high-pressure hose.
3. Lubricant Container Preparation:
   • Place the pump and cover assembly onto a standard lubricant drum or container. Ensure the ram plate is properly seated on the lubricant surface.
   • Secure the cover to the drum if applicable, to prevent movement during operation.
4. Air Supply Connection:
   • Connect a clean, dry air supply line to the air inlet port of the pump.
   • Ensure the air supply pressure is within the recommended operating range (refer to Specifications section).
   • Install an air filter/regulator/lubricator (FRL) unit upstream of the pump for optimal performance and longevity.

Operating Instructions

1. Initial Priming:
   • With the air supply connected and regulated, slowly open the air valve to the pump.
   • Allow the pump to cycle until lubricant flows smoothly from the dispensing nozzle. This may take a few cycles to purge air from the system.
   • If the pump does not prime, check for air leaks in the suction line or ensure the ram plate is fully seated in the lubricant.
2. Dispensing Lubricant:
   • Direct the dispensing nozzle towards the point of application.
   • Depress the trigger on the nozzle to begin dispensing lubricant.
   • Release the trigger to stop the flow.
3. Monitoring:
   • Regularly monitor the lubricant level in the drum to prevent the pump from running dry.
   • Observe pump operation for any unusual noises or performance issues.
4. Shut Down:
   • Close the air supply valve to the pump.
   • Relieve any residual pressure in the hose by briefly depressing the nozzle trigger (ensure it is directed safely).

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Alemite pump.

• Daily/Before Use:
  • Inspect hoses and connections for leaks or damage.
  • Check air filter for condensation and drain if necessary.
• Weekly/Monthly:
  • Clean the exterior of the pump.
  • Check and lubricate air motor components if specified by the pump's internal manual (refer to detailed service manual for specific lubrication points).
  • Inspect the ram plate for wear or damage.
• As Needed:
  • Replace worn seals or O-rings.
  • Clean or replace air filter elements.
