Step-by-Step Guide:
- Prepare the Crib: Carefully disassemble the front and back panels of your crib. Retain all hardware (bolts, nuts, washers) from your crib, as some may be reused.
- Identify Headboard and Footboard: The original crib end panels will serve as the headboard and footboard for your new bed. Ensure they are oriented correctly. Some crib designs may require rotating the corner posts for proper hole alignment.
- Attach Conversion Rails:
- Align the metal brackets of the conversion rails with the pre-drilled holes on the headboard and footboard posts.
- Secure the rails to the headboard and footboard using the provided screws and fasteners. Ensure a snug and secure fit. Do not overtighten.
- Install Mattress Support: This kit does not include mattress slats. You will need to purchase a compatible box spring or sturdy wooden slats separately to support your mattress. Place the box spring/slats onto the ledges of the conversion rails.
- Place Mattress: Once the support is in place, position your twin or full-size mattress on top.
- Final Check: Verify that all connections are tight and the bed frame is stable. Gently test the bed's stability before use.
