4. Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your Eaton TR1107W receptacle:

2. Remove Old Receptacle (if applicable): Carefully remove the wallplate and unscrew the old receptacle from the electrical box. Disconnect the wires, noting which wire was connected to which terminal.
3. Prepare Wires: Strip approximately 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) of insulation from the ends of the circuit wires. The receptacle features a built-in wire stripper for No.14 and No.12 wire to assist with this step.
4. Connect Wires: The Eaton TR1107W receptacle supports side-wire connections and accepts up to No.10 solid wire. Terminal screws are backed out and ready for wiring.
   • Connect the green or bare copper ground wire to the green grounding screw.
   • Connect the white (neutral) wire to the silver-colored terminal screws.
   • Connect the black (hot) wire to the brass-colored terminal screws.

5. Operation

The Eaton TR1107W is a tamper-resistant receptacle. This means it has an internal shutter mechanism that prevents foreign objects from being inserted into the slots. To insert a plug, apply even pressure to both prongs simultaneously. This will open the shutters and allow the plug to enter. If a plug does not insert easily, ensure both prongs are aligned and apply firm, even pressure.

• Plug Difficult to Insert:

• Receptacle is Hot to the Touch:
