Setup
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all game components from the tin. Verify that all pieces are present: game board, Title Deed cards, Disney Dollars, 2 dice, 8 collectible Disney-themed movers, 16 Magic Moments cards, 16 Show Time cards, 32 White Rabbit Cottages, and 12 Sleeping Beauty Castles.
- Place Game Board: Unfold the game board and place it on a flat surface.
- Separate Cards: Shuffle the Magic Moments cards and place them face down on the designated space on the board. Shuffle the Show Time cards and place them face down on their designated space. Separate the Title Deed cards by property and place them next to the corresponding properties on the board.
- Banker Selection: One player is selected as the Banker. The Banker is responsible for all money, Title Deeds, Cottages, and Castles not yet owned by players. The Banker also collects taxes and fines and pays salaries and bonuses. The Banker may also play the game, but must keep personal funds separate from the Bank's.
- Initial Money Distribution: Each player receives the following Disney Dollars from the Bank:
- Two $500 bills
- Two $100 bills
- Two $50 bills
- Six $20 bills
- Five $10 bills
- Five $5 bills
- Five $1 bills
- Choose Movers: Each player selects one of the 8 collectible Disney-themed movers and places it on the 'GO' space.
Operating (Gameplay)
Objective
The objective of Monopoly Disney Edition is to be the last player remaining with money and properties, driving all other players into bankruptcy.
Playing the Game
- Starting the Game: Each player rolls both dice. The player with the highest total starts the game. Play proceeds to the left.
- Player's Turn: On your turn, roll both dice and move your mover clockwise around the board the number of spaces indicated by the dice.
- Landing on Spaces: The action you take depends on the space you land on:
- Unowned Property: You may buy the property from the Bank for the price printed on that space. If you choose not to buy it, the Banker immediately offers it for auction to the highest bidder.
- Owned Property: If another player owns the property, you must pay them rent according to the Title Deed card. Rent increases if the property owner has built White Rabbit Cottages or Sleeping Beauty Castles.
- Magic Moments or Show Time: Draw the top card from the respective pile and follow the instructions. Return the card to the bottom of the pile after use.
- Go to Jail: Move your mover directly to the 'In Jail' space. You do not collect $200 for passing 'GO'.
- Free Parking: This is a free resting space. No action is required.
- Income Tax/Luxury Tax: Pay the specified amount to the Bank.
- GO: If you land on or pass 'GO', collect $200 from the Bank.
- Doubles: If you roll doubles, take your turn as usual, then roll the dice again for another turn. If you roll doubles three times in a row, you must immediately 'Go to Jail'.
- Buying and Building: Once you own all properties in a color group, you can build White Rabbit Cottages and then Sleeping Beauty Castles on them. Cottages must be built evenly across the properties in a group.
- Selling Property/Mortgaging: You can sell undeveloped properties back to the Bank for half their purchase price. Properties with Cottages or Castles must have all buildings sold back to the Bank first. Mortgaged properties do not collect rent.
- Bankruptcy: If you owe more money than you can pay, even by selling all your assets, you are bankrupt and out of the game. All your remaining assets are turned over to the player you owe money to, or to the Bank if you owe the Bank.
- Winning the Game: The last player remaining in the game, after all others have gone bankrupt, is the winner.
Maintenance
- Storage: After each use, ensure all game components are returned to their designated places within the tin. This prevents loss and damage.
- Cleaning: The game board and cards can be gently wiped with a dry, soft cloth if needed. Avoid using liquids or abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the printed surfaces.
- Handling: Handle all game pieces, especially the collectible movers, with care to preserve their condition.
Troubleshooting
- Missing Pieces: If any components are missing upon opening, please contact the manufacturer, Parker Brothers, for assistance. Refer to the contact information provided on the product packaging or their official website.
