3. Setup

Before using your trigger pull gauge, ensure it is properly set up.

3.1 Battery Installation

The gauge requires two AAA batteries (not included).

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the gauge.
  2. Slide open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.2 Attaching the Measurement Rod

The measurement rod is designed for flexibility and can be adjusted for various trigger types.

  1. Locate the small hole at the top of the gauge.
  2. Insert the straight end of the measurement rod into this hole.
  3. The rod can be rotated to position the 90-degree hook either downwards or sideways, depending on your preference and the firearm's trigger guard.

4. Operating Instructions

Safety First: Always ensure the firearm is unloaded and clear of ammunition before performing any trigger pull measurements. Point the firearm in a safe direction.

4.1 Basic Measurement

  1. Power On: Press the READY button to turn on the gauge. The display will show "888.888" briefly, then "0.00".
  2. Select Units: Press the LBS/GM button to toggle between pounds/ounces (LBS/OZ) and grams/kilograms (GM/KG).
  3. Position the Gauge: Hook the roller of the measurement rod around the firearm's trigger. Ensure the gauge is held firmly and consistently for accurate readings.
  4. Take Reading: Slowly and smoothly pull the gauge away from the firearm until the trigger releases. The display will show the peak pull weight.
  5. Reset: Press the READY button again to clear the display and prepare for a new reading.

4.2 Using the Average Function

The average function allows you to take multiple readings and get a consistent average, which is ideal for evaluating trigger performance over several pulls.

  1. Start: Press the READY button to turn on the gauge and reset it to "0.00".
  2. Take Multiple Readings: Perform several trigger pull measurements as described in Section 4.1. After each pull, the gauge will hold the reading. Press READY to clear and prepare for the next reading. The gauge automatically stores up to 10 readings.
  3. Calculate Average: After taking your desired number of readings (up to 10), press the AVG button. The display will show the average of all stored readings.
  4. Clear Readings: To clear all stored readings and the average, press the CLR button.
