1. Initial Setup

1.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all items listed below are present:

1.2 Battery Installation

The AWS-100 scale requires 2 AAA batteries (included). To install or replace batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
  2. Slide the battery cover off.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Replace the battery cover.

2. Operating Instructions

2.1 Power On/Off

To turn the scale ON, press the ON/OFF button. The display will light up and show "0.00g" (or the last used unit). To turn the scale OFF, press and hold the ON/OFF button until the display turns off.

2.2 Unit Conversion

The AWS-100 scale can measure in grams (g), ounces (oz), carats (ct), and grains (gn). To switch between units, press the MODE button repeatedly until your desired unit is displayed.

2.3 Tare Function

The Tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container, so you only measure the weight of its contents.

  1. Place an empty container on the weighing platform.
  2. Press the TARE button. The display will reset to "0.00".
  3. Add the items you wish to weigh into the container. The display will show the net weight of the items.

2.4 Weighing Items

  1. Turn the scale ON and wait for the display to show "0.00".
  2. If using a container, perform the Tare function as described above.
  3. Carefully place the item(s) to be weighed on the center of the weighing platform.
  4. Read the stable weight displayed on the LCD screen.

3. Calibration Adjustment

Calibration is performed at the factory. However, the weighing range can shift slightly during shipping or due to changes in local acceleration of gravity. Adjustment is recommended when moving the scale from one location to another.

  1. Press the ON/OFF key to turn the scale on.
  2. Wait for the display to show "0.00g".
  3. Press and hold the MODE key until the display shows "CAL", then release.
  4. Press the MODE key again. The display will flash "CAL" followed by the required calibration weight (e.g., "100.00g").
  5. Place the required calibration weight (100g) on the center of the platform.
  6. The display will show "PASS" then return to normal weighing mode. Calibration is complete.
