3. Setup

3.1 Connecting the Recorder

Ensure the unit is powered off before making any connections.

HDMI Connection (Recommended for 1080p Upscaling)

  1. Connect one end of an HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT port on the rear of the DVDR3475.
  2. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to an HDMI input port on your television or display.

Audio/Video (A/V) Connection (Alternative)

  1. Connect the supplied A/V cable (red, white, yellow) to the corresponding AUDIO OUT (red, white) and VIDEO OUT (yellow) ports on the rear of the DVDR3475.
  2. Connect the other end of the A/V cable to the corresponding A/V input ports on your television.

Power Connection

  1. Plug the power cord into the AC IN socket on the rear of the DVDR3475.
  2. Plug the other end of the power cord into a wall outlet.

3.2 Initial Setup

  1. Turn on your television and select the correct input source (e.g., HDMI 1, Video 1) corresponding to the connection made in step 3.1.
  2. Press the POWER button on the front panel or remote control to turn on the DVDR3475.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial setup, which may include language selection, aspect ratio, and video output settings.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Playback

  1. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the disc tray.
  2. Place a DVD or CD disc onto the tray with the label side facing up.
  3. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button again to close the disc tray.
  4. The recorder will automatically begin playback or display a disc menu. Use the remote control to navigate menus and select titles.
  5. Use the PLAY, PAUSE, STOP, FAST FORWARD, and REWIND buttons on the remote control for playback control.

4.2 Recording to DVD

The DVDR3475 supports recording to DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW discs.

  1. Insert a blank recordable DVD disc into the disc tray.
  2. Connect your video source (e.g., VCR, camcorder, set-top box) to the appropriate input ports on the DVDR3475 (e.g., A/V IN, iLink).
  3. Select the correct input source on the DVDR3475 using the INPUT or SOURCE button on the remote control.
  4. Begin playback on your source device.
  5. Press the RECORD button on the DVDR3475 or remote control to start recording. The recording indicator will illuminate.
  6. Press the STOP button to end the recording.
  7. To finalize the disc for playback on other DVD players, refer to the 'Disc Finalization' section in the on-screen menu.

4.3 Using iLink (DV Input)

The iLink (IEEE 1394) input allows for direct digital transfer from compatible DV camcorders.

  1. Connect your DV camcorder to the iLink port on the front or rear of the DVDR3475 using an iLink cable.
  2. Select the iLink input source on the DVDR3475.
  3. Control your camcorder to play the desired footage.
  4. Press the RECORD button on the DVDR3475 to begin recording the digital video stream to your DVD.
