This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and effective use of your Sony Cybershot DSC-T2 digital camera. Setup
1. Charging the Battery
- Insert the InfoLithium (NP-BD1) battery into the supplied battery charger.
- Connect the charger to a power outlet. The charging indicator will illuminate.
- Once charging is complete (indicator light changes or turns off), remove the battery.
2. Inserting the Battery
- Open the battery/memory card cover on the camera.
- Insert the charged battery into the battery compartment, ensuring correct orientation.
- Close the battery/memory card cover securely.
3. Memory Storage
The DSC-T2 features 4GB of internal memory. For additional storage, a Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick Pro Duo card can be inserted into the designated slot.
4. Initial Power On
Slide the lens cover open to power on the camera. The LCD screen will activate. Follow any on-screen prompts for initial setup, such as setting the date and time.

Operating Instructions
Basic Operation
Power On/Off
- To power on, slide the lens cover downwards.
- To power off, slide the lens cover upwards to close it.
Taking Photos
- Ensure the camera is powered on and in shooting mode.
- Frame your shot using the 2.7-inch touch-panel LCD.
- Press the shutter button halfway to focus. The camera will automatically detect faces and can activate Smile Shutter mode to capture a smile.
- Press the shutter button fully to take the picture.
Zoom Function
Use the zoom controls (typically marked 'W' for Wide and 'T' for Telephoto) to adjust the focal length. The camera features a 3x optical zoom and up to 6x digital zoom.
Reviewing Photos (Playback Mode)
- Press the Playback button (often indicated by a triangle icon).
- Navigate through images by swiping the touch screen or using directional controls.
- Tap the screen to access options like zooming in on an image or deleting.
- The camera's album folder allows organization by chronological order or calendar view. Favorite photos can be moved to a "favorites" folder for quick access.

Advanced Features
Shooting Modes
The DSC-T2 offers various shooting modes to optimize settings for different scenes, including Automatic, Manual, Portrait, Landscape, and Sports. Select the appropriate mode via the on-screen menu.
Video Recording
To record videos, switch to video mode. The camera supports video capture at 640 x 480 resolution at 30 frames per second (MP4 format).
Connecting to a Computer
Use the supplied USB cable to connect the camera to a computer. The pre-loaded Sony PMB Portable software can automatically run, allowing for easy transfer and sharing of photos and videos.
HD Output
For high-definition viewing, the camera can be connected to an HDTV using an optional HD component cable or HD cradle (sold separately). This allows for viewing photos in 1080 HD resolution with a built-in slideshow function.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Camera
