The TANITA InnerScan 50V BC-620-SB is an advanced body composition monitor that provides comprehensive insights into your body's health. It utilizes Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) to estimate body fat percentage, muscle mass, visceral fat level, basal metabolic rate, body age, estimated bone mass, and segmental analysis for five body parts (right arm, left arm, right leg, left leg, and trunk).

3. Setup
3.1. Battery Installation
The device requires four AA batteries for operation. Ensure correct polarity when inserting.
- Turn the main unit over to access the battery compartment on the underside.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert four AA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals are aligned correctly as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
3.2. Initial Settings (User Data Registration)
Before first use, you must register your personal data. The device can store data for up to 4 users, plus a guest mode.
- Press the 'SET' button to begin user registration.
- Select a user number (1-4) using the arrow buttons and confirm with 'SET'.
- Enter your gender (Male/Female) and confirm.
- Enter your height in centimeters (cm) and confirm.
- Enter your age in years and confirm.
- The device will save your profile. Repeat for other users if necessary.
3.3. Regional Setting (Gravity Compensation)
For accurate weight measurements, the device includes a gravity compensation function. Set your region according to the instructions in the health booklet or on the device display. There are 5 regional divisions available.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Basic Measurement (Weight & Body Fat)
To take a basic measurement, which includes weight and overall body fat percentage:
- Place the monitor on a hard, flat surface.
- Select your user number or use guest mode.
- Step onto the platform with bare feet, ensuring your feet are centered on the electrode pads.
- Stand still until the measurement is complete and your results are displayed.
4.2. Segmental Body Composition Measurement
For a more detailed analysis including segmental body fat and muscle mass, use the retractable handle.

- Follow steps 1-3 for basic measurement.
- While standing on the platform, gently pull out the retractable handle.
- Hold the handle firmly with both hands, ensuring your palms are in full contact with the electrodes. Keep your arms straight and slightly away from your body.
- Remain still until the measurement is complete. The display will show various segmental results.

4.3. Understanding Your Results
The InnerScan 50V provides a range of measurements to help you monitor your health. Refer to the health booklet for detailed interpretations.

- Body Fat Percentage: The proportion of fat to your total body weight.
- Visceral Fat Level: The level of fat surrounding your internal organs.
- Muscle Mass: The total weight of muscle in your body.
- Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR): The minimum calories required to sustain vital functions at rest.
- Body Age: An estimate of your body's physiological age based on your BMR and other factors.
- Estimated Bone Mass: The estimated weight of bone mineral in your body.

4.4. Viewing Past Data
The monitor stores previous measurement data, allowing you to track your progress over time.

To view past data, press the 'Recall' or 'History' button (refer to your device's specific button layout). You can typically cycle through previous measurements, including the last reading, 1-2 week averages, and 1-6 month averages (in monthly increments).

- Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the device in water.
- Keep the electrode pads clean and dry for optimal contact.
6.2. Battery Replacement
When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace all four AA batteries simultaneously. Refer to Section 3.1 for battery installation instructions.
