Operating Instructions
1. Filling the Sprayer
- Ensure the sprayer is depressurized by lifting the pressure relief valve.
- Unscrew the pump assembly from the tank.
- Carefully pour the desired liquid (deck cleaner, stain, or sealer) into the wide funnel top. Do not overfill beyond the 1-gallon mark.
- Securely re-attach the pump assembly, ensuring it is tightly sealed.
2. Pressurizing the Sprayer
- With the pump assembly securely in place, pump the handle up and down until resistance is felt and the tank is pressurized.
- Do not over-pressurize. If the pressure relief valve activates, release some air until it stops.
3. Spraying
- Aim the nozzle at the target surface.
- Depress the spray handle to begin spraying.
- For continuous spraying, engage the lock-on feature on the handle.
- Maintain consistent pumping to keep pressure for an even spray.
4. Using the Spray Shield
Position the Total Control Spray Shield between the nozzle and any areas you wish to protect from overspray, such as siding, plants, or adjacent surfaces. This helps to create a clean, defined application area.
5. Nozzle Selection
Choose the fine nozzle for delicate applications or a very light coating. The medium nozzle is suitable for general purpose spraying. The coarse nozzle is ideal for heavier applications or when a wider, more robust spray pattern is desired.
Maintenance
Cleaning
- After each use, especially with chemicals, thoroughly clean the sprayer.
- Depressurize the tank.
- Empty any remaining liquid.
- Rinse the tank, hose, and wand with clean water. Pump clean water through the nozzle until it sprays clear.
- For stubborn residues, use a mild detergent solution, then rinse thoroughly.
Storage
Store the sprayer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and freezing temperatures. Ensure the tank is empty and clean before storage. Do not store chemicals in the sprayer.
