Setup

1. Powering the Device

Battery Installation (Not specified, general instruction)

Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the player. Insert the required batteries (e.g., 2 x AA batteries, not included) according to the polarity indicators (+/-). Close the battery compartment cover securely.

AC Power Connection

Insert the small plug of the AC power adapter into the DC IN 4.5V jack on the side of the CD player. Plug the other end of the adapter into a standard wall outlet. The player will automatically switch to AC power when connected.

2. Connecting Headphones

Plug your stereo headphones into the PHONES jack (3.5mm) on the side of the CD player. Ensure the plug is fully inserted for proper audio output.

Operating Instructions

1. Loading a CD

  1. Gently slide the OPEN switch or press the OPEN button to open the CD compartment lid.
  2. Place a CD with the label side facing up onto the center spindle. Ensure the CD is seated correctly.
  3. Close the CD compartment lid firmly until it clicks into place.

2. Basic Playback Controls

  • PLAY/PAUSE (►/‖): Press to start playback. Press again to pause. Press a third time to resume.
  • STOP (■): Press to stop playback.
  • SKIP FORWARD (►►): Press once to skip to the next track. Press and hold to fast-forward within a track.
  • SKIP BACKWARD (◄◄): Press once to skip to the beginning of the current track. Press twice to skip to the previous track. Press and hold to fast-rewind within a track.
  • VOLUME (+/-): Adjust the volume level using the dedicated volume control dial or buttons.

3. MP3 Playback

The Aiwa XP 205 supports MP3 audio files on CD-R/RW discs. When an MP3 disc is inserted, the player will automatically detect the format. Navigation through folders and tracks may vary depending on the disc's structure. Refer to the display for folder and track numbers.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the CD Player

  • Wipe the exterior of the player with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • To clean the lens, use a commercially available CD lens cleaner disc. Do not touch the lens directly.

2. Battery Care

  • Remove batteries if the player will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.

3. Storage

Store the player in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
