2. What's in the Box

3. Setup
3.1. Charging the Battery
- Insert the supplied battery into the battery charger.
- Connect the battery charger to a power outlet.
- The charging indicator light will illuminate. Charging is complete when the light turns off.
3.2. Inserting the Battery and Memory Stick
- Open the battery/Memory Stick cover on the bottom of the camera.
- Insert the charged battery with the correct orientation until it clicks into place.
- Insert a Memory Stick (sold separately) into the Memory Stick slot until it clicks. Ensure the Memory Stick is facing the correct way.
- Close the battery/Memory Stick cover securely.
3.3. Initial Settings
The first time you turn on the camera, you will be prompted to set the date, time, and time zone. Use the control buttons to navigate and confirm your selections.
4. Operating the Camera
4.1. Turning On/Off
Press the POWER button located on the top of the camera to turn it on or off.
4.2. Taking Photos
- Turn on the camera.
- Select your desired shooting mode using the mode dial (e.g., Auto, Program Auto, Scene Selection).
- Frame your shot using the LCD screen.
- Press the Shutter button halfway down to focus. The focus indicator will turn green when focus is achieved.
- Press the Shutter button all the way down to take the picture.
4.3. Zooming
Use the W/T (Zoom) lever around the shutter button to zoom in (T) or zoom out (W).
4.4. Viewing Photos (Playback Mode)
Press the Playback button to switch to playback mode. Use the directional buttons to scroll through your captured images.
4.5. Connecting to a Computer
Connect the camera to your computer using the supplied USB cable. The camera will appear as a removable disk drive, allowing you to transfer photos and videos.
5. Maintenance
5.1. Cleaning the Camera
- Camera Body: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a cloth lightly dampened with water and then dry thoroughly.
- Lens: Use a lens brush to remove dust, then gently wipe with a lens cleaning cloth. Do not use chemical cleaners.
- LCD Screen: Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid pressing hard on the screen.
