Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of your Com-Pak heater. Refer to the detailed installation instructions provided with the product packaging for specific wiring diagrams and mounting procedures. The following points highlight key considerations:
- Location: Choose a wall location that allows for proper air circulation and is away from combustible materials. Ensure adequate clearance from floors, ceilings, and adjacent walls as specified in the full installation guide.
- Dedicated Circuit: This heater requires a dedicated 120-volt, 15-amp circuit. Do not connect to an existing circuit that powers other appliances or outlets.
- Wall Can Installation: The heater includes a wall can (rough-in box) that must be securely mounted between wall studs. Ensure the wall cavity is properly insulated around the wall can to prevent heat loss into the wall structure.
- Wiring: All wiring must comply with national and local electrical codes. Connect the heater directly to the dedicated circuit using appropriate gauge wiring.
- Thermostat Integration: This model includes a built-in mechanical thermostat. No external thermostat wiring is required.

Operating Instructions
Your Cadet Com-Pak heater is equipped with a built-in mechanical thermostat for easy temperature control.
- Power On: Ensure the circuit breaker supplying power to the heater is in the "ON" position.
- Set Temperature: Rotate the thermostat dial located on the front grille to your desired comfort level. Turning the dial clockwise will increase the temperature setting, and counter-clockwise will decrease it. The heater will activate when the room temperature falls below the set point and deactivate once the set temperature is reached.
- Initial Operation: During the first few hours of operation, it is normal for the heater to emit a slight odor. This is due to the burning off of manufacturing oils and coatings and will dissipate with continued use. Ensure adequate ventilation during this period.
- Turning Off: To turn the heater off, rotate the thermostat dial counter-clockwise to its lowest setting or turn off the dedicated circuit breaker.
Maintenance
Your Cadet Com-Pak heater requires minimal maintenance. Always disconnect power at the circuit breaker before performing any maintenance.
- Cleaning the Grille: Periodically, use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior grille. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Internal Cleaning: If dust accumulates inside the heater, carefully remove the front grille (refer to installation instructions for removal) and use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to gently clean the heating element and fan blades. Ensure no foreign objects are left inside the unit. Reinstall the grille securely.
- No Lubrication Required: The motor is permanently lubricated and requires no additional oiling.
