  2. Protect Surrounding Area: Cover adjacent areas and objects to protect them from overspray. Use drop cloths or newspaper.
  3. Shake Can Thoroughly: Shake the aerosol can vigorously for at least one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. Continue to shake occasionally during use.

Operating Instructions (Application)

  1. Hold Can Correctly: Hold the can upright, 8 to 10 inches (20-25 cm) from the surface.
  2. Apply Evenly: Apply a light, even coat of adhesive to one or both surfaces, depending on the desired bond strength and repositionability. For a stronger, permanent bond, apply to both surfaces. For a temporary or repositionable bond, apply a lighter coat to one surface.
  3. Allow Tack Time: Allow the adhesive to become tacky before joining surfaces. This typically takes 10-15 seconds. The extended open-tack time allows for repositioning, especially useful for larger projects.
  4. Join Surfaces: Carefully align and press the surfaces together firmly. Smooth out any air bubbles or wrinkles from the center outwards.
  5. Drying and Curing: The adhesive will dry to the touch quickly. Full cure time is approximately 30 minutes. Avoid disturbing the bonded materials during the curing process.

Maintenance

  • Clean Nozzle After Use: To prevent clogging, after each use, invert the can and spray for 2-3 seconds until only clear propellant comes out. Wipe the nozzle clean with a cloth.
  • Storage: Store the can in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and open flames. Do not store at temperatures above 120°F (49°C). Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Nozzle CloggingAdhesive dried in nozzle.Invert can and spray until clear propellant comes out after each use. If already clogged, try soaking the nozzle in mineral spirits or replacing it.
Uneven Spray PatternInsufficient shaking; partially clogged nozzle.Shake can vigorously for at least one minute before and during use. Clean or replace nozzle.
Poor AdhesionImproper surface preparation; insufficient adhesive applied; incorrect tack time.Ensure surfaces are clean and dry. Apply a sufficient, even coat. Allow proper tack time before joining surfaces.
Bleeding Through MaterialExcessive application on porous materials.Apply a very light, even coat. Krylon All-Purpose Spray Adhesive is designed to not bleed through, but excessive application can still cause issues on very thin or porous materials.
