Setup

1. Battery Installation

The Sangean DT-180 requires two (2) AAA batteries for operation. Batteries are not included. Follow these steps to install the batteries:

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio.
2. Slide the cover downwards to open the compartment.
3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Close the battery compartment cover by sliding it upwards until it clicks into place.

A low-battery indicator on the LCD display will provide a helpful hint when it's time to replace the batteries.

2. Connecting Earbuds

For private listening, connect the included stereo earbuds to the headphone jack located on the top of the radio.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

To turn the radio on or off, locate the power button, typically on the top edge of the device. Press it once to power on, and press again to power off.

2. Tuning Stations

The DT-180 features PLL synthesized digital tuning for precise station selection.

• Manual Tuning: Use the "Tuning" up/down buttons to manually adjust the frequency.
• Auto Seek: Press the "Auto Seek" button to automatically scan and stop at the next available strong station.
• Band Selection: Press the "BAND" button to switch between AM and FM bands.

3. Presets

The radio allows you to save up to 15 favorite stations (10 FM, 5 AM) for quick access.

1. Tune to the desired station.
2. Press and hold one of the preset buttons (1-5) until the display confirms the station has been saved.
3. To recall a saved station, simply press the corresponding preset button briefly.

4. Stereo/Mono Switch

For optimal reception, especially in areas with weak FM signals, you can switch between stereo and mono modes. Mono mode often provides clearer audio in challenging reception conditions.

5. Dynamic Bass Boost (DBB)

Activate the DBB feature to enhance the low-frequency audio output, providing a richer bass sound. Locate and press the "DBB" button to toggle this feature on or off.

6. Auto Shut-Off

The radio includes a 90-minute auto shut-off feature to conserve battery life. This function automatically turns off the radio after 90 minutes of continuous operation.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the radio's exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Battery Care: Remove batteries if the radio will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
• Storage: Store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Avoid Moisture: Keep the radio away from water and high humidity.
