The KC2300 Passage Knob is designed for easy installation, fitting standard door preparations. Follow these general steps for proper installation:

1. Prepare the Door: Ensure your door has a standard 161 door prep, including a 2-1/8" diameter bore for the knob and a 1-1/8" x 2-1/4" mortise for the latch. The backset should be 2 3/4".

2. Install the Latch: Insert the cylindrical latch into the mortise on the edge of the door. Secure it with screws. Ensure the latch bolt faces the correct direction for door swing.

• To Open the Door: Simply turn the knob in either direction to retract the latch bolt, then push or pull the door open.
• To Close the Door: Push or pull the door shut. The latch bolt will automatically retract as it contacts the strike plate and then extend into the strike plate opening, holding the door closed.

No special actions are required for this non-locking function.
