4. Operating Instructions
4.1 General Operation
- Always hold the tool firmly with both hands during operation.
- Press the variable speed trigger to start the tool. The cutting speed can be adjusted from low to high by varying the pressure on the trigger.
- Allow the blade to reach full speed before contacting the workpiece.
4.2 Reciprocating Saw Mode
For straight cuts in wood (up to 100mm x 100mm) or metal (up to 3.5mm thick), use the wood cutting blade (A5871) or metal cutting blade (A5873). Apply steady, even pressure. Do not force the tool.
4.3 Jigsaw Mode (Curved Cuts)
For curved cuts, install the curved cutting jigsaw blade (A5872). Guide the tool along the desired curve with controlled movements. The tool's design allows for easy maneuverability for intricate cuts.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
After each use, disconnect the tool from power and clean any sawdust or debris from the ventilation openings and blade area using a soft brush or compressed air. Do not use solvents.
5.2 Blade Care
Inspect blades regularly for sharpness and damage. Replace dull or damaged blades immediately to ensure efficient and safe cutting performance.
6. Troubleshooting
- Tool does not start: Check power connection. Ensure the trigger is fully depressed.
- Blade not cutting effectively: Replace with a sharp, appropriate blade for the material. Ensure the blade is installed correctly.
- Excessive vibration: Verify the blade is securely clamped. Reduce cutting pressure.
