Initial Inspection

- Ensure the flexible hose is securely attached to the pump body.
- Familiarize yourself with the valve head and its compatibility with Presta and Schrader valves.
Operating Instructions
Preparing for Inflation
- Unfold Pump: Extend the handle and unfold the footrest until it locks into position. This provides stability during pumping.
- Prepare Tire Valve:
- Presta Valve: Unscrew the valve cap and then unscrew the small knurled nut at the top of the valve stem. Press down briefly to release a small amount of air, ensuring the valve is open.
- Schrader Valve: Unscrew the valve cap. No further action is typically needed.
Connecting to Valve
- Identify Valve Head: The pump head is designed to work with both valve types. Refer to the markings on the pump head for the correct orientation for Presta or Schrader.
- Attach Pump Head: Firmly push the pump head onto the tire valve. For some pump heads, you may need to flip a lever to lock it in place. Ensure a tight seal to prevent air leakage.
Inflating the Tire
- Position: Place the pump on a stable surface with the footrest on the ground. Hold the handle firmly.
- Pump: Push the handle down smoothly and pull it up completely to draw air into the pump. Repeat this motion until the desired tire pressure is reached.
- Monitor Pressure: If your pump includes a pressure gauge, monitor the pressure during inflation. Do not exceed the maximum recommended pressure for your tire, which is usually printed on the tire sidewall.
Disconnecting the Pump
- Release Lever (if applicable): If your pump head has a locking lever, flip it to the open position.
- Remove Head: Quickly and firmly pull the pump head straight off the valve stem.
- Secure Valve:
- Presta Valve: Screw the knurled nut down finger-tight and replace the valve cap.
- Schrader Valve: Replace the valve cap.
- Fold Pump: Fold the footrest and retract the handle for compact storage.
Maintenance
Cleaning
- Wipe down the pump exterior with a damp cloth after use, especially if it has been exposed to dirt or mud.
- Ensure the valve head is free of debris.
Lubrication
- Periodically apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the pump's plunger shaft to maintain smooth operation. Avoid petroleum-based lubricants as they can damage seals.
Storage
- Store the pump in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- If mounted on a bicycle, ensure it is securely fastened to prevent loss or damage during rides.
Troubleshooting
- Pump not inflating tire:
- Check if the pump head is securely attached and sealed to the valve.
- Ensure the Presta valve nut is unscrewed and the valve is open.
- Inspect the pump's internal seals for wear or damage.
- Air leaking from pump head:
- Ensure the pump head is fully engaged and the locking lever (if present) is closed.
- Check the rubber gasket inside the pump head for damage or debris.
- Difficulty pumping:
- Lubricate the plunger shaft as described in the Maintenance section.
- Ensure no foreign objects are obstructing the pump's air intake or output.
