Maintenance and Care
Proper care will ensure the longevity and performance of your Casio W96H-1BV watch.
Water Resistance
The watch is water-resistant to 50 meters (165 feet). This means it is suitable for casual swimming, showering, and washing hands. Do not operate buttons while the watch is wet or submerged. Avoid exposing the watch to hot water or steam, as this can damage the seals.
Cleaning
Wipe the watch case and band with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a soft cloth dampened with water and a mild neutral detergent, then wipe dry. Avoid using volatile agents like thinner or benzine, as they may damage the resin components.
Battery Replacement
The watch uses one CR2025 battery. While designed for long life, battery replacement should be performed by a qualified technician to ensure water resistance is maintained. Attempting to replace the battery yourself may void the warranty and compromise the watch's water resistance.
Temperature Exposure
Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, for extended periods. High temperatures can shorten battery life and affect watch components, while extreme cold can cause temporary display issues.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your watch, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Display is blank or dim. | Low battery. | Replace the battery (CR2025). Contact a qualified technician. |
| Time is inaccurate. | Incorrect time setting; exposure to strong magnetic fields or extreme temperatures. | Re-set the time. Avoid strong magnetic fields and extreme temperatures. |
| Buttons are unresponsive. | Watch is wet; internal malfunction. | Ensure watch is dry before operating buttons. If issue persists, seek professional service. |
| Water inside the display. | Water resistance compromised. | Stop using the watch immediately and seek professional repair to prevent further damage. |
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact Casio customer support.
