Setup

1. Battery Installation

The VN-960PC requires two (2) AAA batteries for operation. Ensure the device is powered off before installing or replacing batteries.

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the recorder.
2. Slide the cover in the direction indicated by the arrow to open it.
3. Insert two AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as marked inside the compartment.
4. Close the battery compartment cover by sliding it back until it clicks into place.

Note: Use alkaline batteries for optimal performance and battery life. The device offers approximately 25 hours of recording/playback time on fresh batteries.

2. Initial Power On

After installing batteries, press and hold the POWER button until the display illuminates. The device may prompt you to set the date and time upon first use. Follow the on-screen instructions using the navigation buttons.

Operating Instructions

1. Recording Audio

The VN-960PC supports three recording modes and allows organization into four distinct folders.

1. Select a Folder: Use the FOLDER button to cycle through the available folders (A, B, C, D).
2. Start Recording: Press the REC button. The recording indicator will light up, and the recording time will be displayed. The device offers up to 16 hours of recording time with its 128 MB internal memory.
3. Pause Recording: Press the REC button again to pause. Press it once more to resume.
4. Stop Recording: Press the STOP button. The recording will be saved in the selected folder.

2. Playback

To listen to your recorded files:

1. Select a Folder: Use the FOLDER button to navigate to the desired folder.
2. Select a File: Use the FORWARD or REWIND buttons to select the desired recording.
3. Start Playback: Press the PLAY button.
4. Adjust Playback Speed: Use the JOG-DIAL for fast or slow playback. Rotate the dial during playback to adjust the speed.
5. Stop Playback: Press the STOP button.

3. PC Link (USB Connection)

The VN-960PC can be connected to a personal computer via its direct USB link to transfer recorded files.

1. Ensure the recorder is powered on.
2. Connect the recorder to your computer using a compatible USB cable. The recorder will enter PC Link mode.
3. Your computer should recognize the device as a removable storage drive.
4. You can now drag and drop audio files (MP3 format) between the recorder and your computer.
5. Safely eject the device from your computer's operating system before disconnecting the USB cable.
