Installation Guide
The Cat Mate 235W is designed for installation in doors, panels, and walls up to 2 inches (50mm) thick. For thicker installations, additional liners may be required (sold separately).
Tools Required
- Pencil
- Drill with appropriate drill bits
- Jigsaw or suitable cutting tool
- Screwdriver
- Measuring tape
Measuring and Cutting the Opening
- Determine the ideal height for your cat. The bottom of the flap should be approximately at your cat's belly height.
- Using the provided template (or the inner frame of the cat door), mark the cutting line on your door or wall. The flap opening dimensions are approximately 15cm x 15cm (5.5 inches x 5.5 inches).
- Drill pilot holes at the corners of your marked cutting line.
- Carefully cut out the opening using a jigsaw or appropriate cutting tool. Ensure the cut is clean and straight.

Mounting the Cat Door
- If installing in a wall or a door thicker than the cat door frame, use the trimmable liner. Measure the thickness of your door/wall and trim the liner to fit snugly within the opening.
- Insert the exterior rain seal into the groove on the outer frame of the cat door.
- Place the outer frame of the cat door into the prepared opening from one side.
- From the opposite side, place the inner frame (and liner if used) into the opening, aligning it with the outer frame.
- Secure the two frames together using the provided screws. Do not overtighten.
- Cover the screw heads with the screw caps for a neat finish.

Operating Instructions
The Cat Mate 235W features a 4-way locking mechanism, allowing you to control your cat's access. The locking mechanism is located at the bottom of the inner frame. Slide the red and green levers to select the desired setting:
- Unlocked (Free Access): Both levers are in the middle position. Your cat can enter and exit freely.
- In Only: The green lever is pushed to the 'IN ONLY' position. Your cat can enter the house but cannot exit.
- Out Only: The red lever is pushed to the 'OUT ONLY' position. Your cat can exit the house but cannot re-enter.
- Locked: Both levers are pushed to their outermost positions, locking the flap completely. Your cat cannot enter or exit.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and proper function of your cat door.
- Cleaning: Clean the cat door regularly with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
