Setup
Unpacking and Placement
Carefully remove the unit from its packaging. Retain all packing materials for future transport or storage. Place the RW-D200 on a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust or moisture. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
Connecting to Your Audio System
- Audio Connection: Connect the audio output jacks (RCA L/R) on the rear of the RW-D200 to an available input on your amplifier or receiver using RCA audio cables. For recording, connect the audio output of your source device (e.g., another CD player, cassette deck) to the audio input jacks (RCA L/R) on the rear of the RW-D200.
- Power Connection: After all audio connections are made, plug the AC power cord into a standard electrical outlet.
Operating Instructions
Basic CD Playback
- Press the POWER button to turn on the unit.
- Press the OPEN/CLOSE button for either Deck 1 or Deck 2 to open the disc tray.
- Place a CD (CD-R or CD-RW) onto the disc tray with the label side facing up.
- Press the OPEN/CLOSE button again to close the tray.
- Press the PLAY button for the selected deck to begin playback.
Recording CDs (CD-R/CD-RW)
The RW-D200 supports recording onto both CD-R and erasable CD-RW discs. It features a 2X dub speed for efficient recording.
- Insert a source CD into Deck 1 (Player) and a blank recordable CD-R or CD-RW into Deck 2 (Recorder).
- Select the desired recording mode (e.g., Synchro Recording, Manual Recording). Refer to the display for options.
- Adjust the recording level using the REC LEVEL controls to prevent distortion. The unit features 24-bit Analog-to-Digital/Digital-to-Analog Converters for high-quality audio.
- Press the RECORD button on Deck 2 to start recording. Playback from Deck 1 will automatically begin.
- Press the STOP button on Deck 2 to end recording.
- Finalizing Disc: After recording, it is crucial to finalize CD-R discs to make them playable on other CD players. Follow the on-screen prompts or refer to the unit's display for the finalization process. CD-RW discs do not require finalization for playback on the RW-D200 but may for other players.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Unit
- Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
- To clean the disc trays, use a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid touching the optical lens inside the disc compartment.
Disc Handling and Storage
- Always handle discs by their edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches.
- Store discs in their cases when not in use, away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.
