3. Setup and Placement

Proper placement of your subwoofer is crucial for optimal sound performance. The V-1220 is a down-firing subwoofer, meaning its speaker is located on the bottom panel. This design can provide excellent bass response, especially on hard floor surfaces.

Placement Recommendations:

• Corner Placement: Placing the subwoofer in a corner can maximize bass output, but may sometimes lead to a "boomy" sound. Experiment with distance from the walls.
• Front Wall Placement: Placing it along the front wall, near your main speakers, can help blend the subwoofer's sound with the rest of your system.
• Avoid Obstructions: Ensure the down-firing woofer is not obstructed and has adequate space to project sound downwards. The included feet provide necessary clearance.

• LFE/Line-In (RCA): For receivers with a dedicated subwoofer output (LFE or Sub Out), connect a single RCA cable from your receiver's subwoofer output to the LFE input on the V-1220.
• Stereo Line-In (RCA): If your receiver does not have an LFE output, connect RCA cables from your receiver's stereo pre-out (left and right) to the corresponding Line-In inputs on the subwoofer.
• High-Level Inputs (Speaker Wire): For receivers without line-level outputs, connect speaker wires from your receiver's main speaker outputs to the "High Level Input" terminals on the subwoofer. Then, connect speaker wires from the "High Level Output" terminals on the subwoofer to your main speakers.

Power Connection:

Connect the provided power cord to the subwoofer's power input and then to a standard 120V AC wall outlet.

4. Operating Instructions

Once connected, adjust the settings on the subwoofer's rear panel to match your listening preferences and room acoustics.

Controls:

• Power Switch (OFF/AUTO/ON):
  • OFF: Turns the subwoofer off.
  • AUTO: The subwoofer will automatically turn on when an audio signal is detected and enter standby mode after a period of inactivity.
  • ON: The subwoofer remains on continuously.
• Volume Control: Adjusts the overall output level of the subwoofer. Start with a low setting and gradually increase until the bass blends seamlessly with your main speakers.
• Crossover Frequency (40Hz-180Hz): This knob determines the highest frequency the subwoofer will reproduce. Set it based on the low-frequency capabilities of your main speakers. A common starting point is 80Hz-100Hz. If using a receiver with built-in bass management, set the subwoofer's crossover to its maximum setting (180Hz) and manage the crossover through your receiver.
• Phase Switch (0°/180°): Adjusts the phase of the subwoofer's output relative to your main speakers. Experiment with both settings to find the one that provides the most impactful and coherent bass at your listening position.
• Receiver Type Switch (Dolby Digital/DTS / Dolby Pro Logic): Select the appropriate setting based on your receiver's output type.

5. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the cabinet. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or excessive moisture.
• Placement: Keep the subwoofer away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and areas with high humidity. Ensure adequate ventilation around the amplifier panel.
• Speaker Cone: Avoid touching the speaker cone directly, as this can cause damage.

• No Sound:
