1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient use of your InFocus LP120 Mobile DLP Video Projector. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the projector and retain it for future reference.

The InFocus LP120 is a compact and powerful mobile projector designed for business presentations. Its lightweight design allows for easy portability, fitting conveniently alongside your laptop. Key features include a 7-language interactive display, XGA 1024x768 native resolution, optical zoom, simple focus, dual infrared sensors, and support for front and rear projection methods. It can project image sizes from 33 to 143 inches diagonally, offers a one-touch simplified keypad, 1100 lumens brightness, a 1-watt speaker, and color-coded connections for ease of use.

4.1 Top Panel Controls

4.2 Rear Panel Connections

4.3 Side View and Ventilation

The side of the projector features ventilation grilles to ensure proper cooling during operation.

4.4 Front View

The front of the projector houses the projection lens and additional ventilation.

5. Setup

5.1 Connecting to a Computer

  1. Connect the M1-A analog computer cable with USB to the 'computer in' port on the projector (refer to Figure 4.2).
  2. Connect the other end of the M1-A cable to your computer's VGA port and a USB port.
  3. For audio, connect the audio cable from your computer's audio output to the 'audio in' port on the projector.

5.2 Connecting to a Video Source (S-Video/RCA)

  1. For S-Video, connect the S-video cable to the 's-video' port on the projector (refer to Figure 4.2) and to your video source.
  2. For RCA composite video, use the S-video-to-RCA video input adapter with the S-video cable. Connect the RCA end to your video source.
  3. Connect the audio cable from your video source to the 'audio in' port on the projector.

5.3 Power Connection

  1. Connect the power cord to the power input on the rear of the projector (refer to Figure 4.2).
  2. Plug the other end of the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.

5.4 Positioning the Projector

Place the projector on a stable, flat surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the projector for ventilation. The projector can project images from 4.5 to 14 feet away, producing a diagonal image size between 33 and 143 inches.

Press the Source button on the top panel or remote control to cycle through available input sources (Computer, S-Video, etc.).

6.4 Audio Adjustment

Use the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons on the top panel or remote control to adjust the audio output from the built-in 1-watt speaker.

7.1 Cleaning the Projector

7.2 Lamp Replacement

The projection lamp module is a consumable item and will require replacement over time. Refer to the ProjectorManager control software or the on-screen menu for lamp life status. Always use an official InFocus replacement lamp module. Consult the detailed user's guide on the provided CD for specific lamp replacement instructions.

Warning: Allow the projector to cool down completely before attempting to replace the lamp. The lamp can be extremely hot.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Projector too close/far from screen
  • Adjust the focus ring on the lens.
  • Adjust the projector's distance from the screen or use the zoom function.
Image is trapezoidal
  • Projector not perpendicular to screen
  • Use the Keystone correction buttons to adjust.
  • Reposition the projector to be more directly aligned with the screen.
No audio
  • Audio cable not connected
  • Volume too low
  • Computer/source audio muted
  • Ensure audio cable is securely connected to the 'audio in' port.
  • Increase volume using the projector's volume buttons or remote.
  • Check audio settings on your computer or video source.
"Lamp Did Not Strike" error
  • Lamp door not closed properly
  • Lamp module faulty or loose
  • Ensure the lamp door is securely closed.
  • Carefully reseat the lamp module. If the issue persists, the lamp may need replacement.
