Maintenance

Cleaning the Trackball and Sensor

To maintain optimal performance, periodically clean the trackball and the internal sensor components. The trackball is held in place by gravity and can be easily lifted out of its housing. Once removed, you will have access to the optical sensor and the three small support beads (skates) that the ball rests on.

  • Gently wipe the trackball with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  • Use a cotton swab or a soft brush to carefully clean any dust or debris from the optical sensor and the three support beads inside the trackball housing.
  • Ensure all components are dry before reinserting the trackball.
