2. Setup

2.1 Power Connection

  1. Uncoil the AC power cord.
  2. Plug the AC power cord into a standard wall outlet. The clock display will illuminate.

2.2 Battery Backup Installation

For uninterrupted timekeeping and alarm function during power outages, install a 9V backup battery.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert one 9V battery (IEC code 6F22 recommended) into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: A specific type of 9V battery (IEC code 6F22) is recommended for optimal performance and compatibility. Standard 9V batteries (6LR61) may not function correctly for backup.

2.3 Initial Time Setting

  1. Press and hold the TIME SET button. The display will begin to flash.
  2. While holding TIME SET, press the HOUR button to adjust the hour. Observe the PM indicator for correct AM/PM setting.
  3. While holding TIME SET, press the MINUTE button to adjust the minute.
  4. Release the TIME SET button to save the current time.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Setting the Alarm

  1. Press and hold the ALARM SET button. The alarm time will flash on the display.
  2. While holding ALARM SET, press the HOUR button to set the desired alarm hour.
  3. While holding ALARM SET, press the MINUTE button to set the desired alarm minute.
  4. Release the ALARM SET button to save the alarm time.
  5. To activate the alarm, slide the ALARM ON/OFF switch to the ON position. An alarm indicator light will appear on the display.
  6. To select the alarm sound (buzzer or radio), use the ALARM MODE switch (if available, refer to specific model features).

3.2 Snooze and Sleep Functions

  • Snooze: When the alarm sounds, press the large SNOOZE button. The alarm will pause for approximately 9 minutes before sounding again.
  • Sleep Timer: To fall asleep to the radio, press the SLEEP button (if available). The radio will play for a set duration (e.g., 60 minutes) and then automatically turn off. Pressing SLEEP repeatedly may cycle through different sleep durations.

3.3 Radio Operation

  1. Slide the RADIO ON/OFF switch to ON.
  2. Select the desired band (FM or AM) using the BAND switch.
  3. Rotate the TUNING dial to find your desired station.
  4. Adjust the volume using the VOLUME dial.
  5. To turn off the radio, slide the RADIO ON/OFF switch to OFF.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents as they may damage the finish.

4.2 Battery Replacement

Replace the 9V backup battery annually or when the clock display flashes after a power interruption, indicating low battery power. Follow the steps in Section 2.2 for replacement.

5. Troubleshooting

  • No power/Display is off: Ensure the AC power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Check household circuit breaker.
  • Alarm does not sound: Verify the alarm time is set correctly and the ALARM ON/OFF switch is in the ON position. Check the alarm volume. Ensure the correct alarm mode (buzzer/radio) is selected.
  • Poor radio reception: Extend the FM wire antenna fully and reposition it for better reception. For AM, rotate the unit itself to improve signal.
  • Time is incorrect after power outage: Ensure a fresh 9V backup battery (IEC code 6F22) is correctly installed in the battery compartment.
