Setup
- Lens Installation: The Kodak Carousel 4400 Projector does not include a lens. Select and install a compatible projection lens that suits your specific projection distance and screen size requirements.
- Power Connection: Connect the projector to a standard 110V AC power outlet using the provided power cord.
- Loading Slides:
- Place 2-by-2-inch slides into an 80- or 140-slide carousel tray.
- Ensure slides are oriented correctly for projection.
- Carefully place the loaded carousel tray onto the projector's carousel spindle.
- Positioning the Projector: Place the projector on a stable, level surface. Adjust the rear leveling foot to achieve the desired projection angle, up to 16 degrees.
Operation
- Power On/Lamp Switch: Utilize the 3-position lamp switch.
- Off: Projector is powered off.
- Fan: Activates the cooling fan without illuminating the lamp.
- Lamp: Activates both the cooling fan and the projection lamp.
- Slide Prewarmer: The projector features a slide prewarmer to prevent slides from "popping" due to heat expansion during projection. This function operates automatically.
- Dark Screen Shutter Latch: When no slide is positioned for projection, the dark screen shutter latch automatically masks the light, preventing a blank white screen.
- Remote Control Functions: Use the remote control for convenient operation.
- Forward/Reverse: Advance or go back through slides in the carousel.
- Focus Adjustment: Fine-tune the image focus for clarity.
- Projection Level Adjustment: The rear leveling foot allows for precise adjustment of the projection angle.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the projector's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. For optical components (lens, condenser), use specialized lens cleaning solutions and cloths to avoid scratches.
- Lamp Replacement: Refer to the specific lamp replacement instructions provided with your projection lamp. Always ensure the projector is unplugged and cooled down before attempting lamp replacement.
- Overheating Protection: The projector is equipped with safety thermal fuses that protect the unit from overheating. Ensure adequate ventilation around the projector during operation.
