1. Important Safety Information
Read all instructions carefully before using this kerosene heater. Failure to follow these instructions may result in fire, explosion, property damage, personal injury, or death.
- Fuel Type: Use only 1-K grade kerosene. Never use gasoline, diesel, or any other fuel, as this can cause fire or explosion.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation when operating the heater indoors. Kerosene heaters consume oxygen and produce carbon monoxide. Open a window or door slightly to allow fresh air circulation.
- Placement: Place the heater on a level, non-combustible surface. Maintain a safe distance from combustible materials (e.g., furniture, curtains).
- Tip-Over Protection: This heater is equipped with a safety shut-off feature that activates if the unit is accidentally tipped over.
- Proposition 65 Warning: This product can expose you to chemicals including lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking and Assembly
Carefully remove all packaging materials. Some minor assembly is required. Refer to the included assembly guide for detailed steps.
3.2 Battery Installation
The heater requires two D batteries for the matchless ignition system. Locate the battery compartment, typically on the side or back of the unit, and insert the batteries according to the polarity markings.
3.3 Fueling the Heater
- Ensure the heater is turned off and completely cool.
- Remove the removable 1.1-gallon fuel tank.
- Using the provided kerosene pump, fill the tank with clean 1-K grade kerosene. Do not overfill.
- Securely replace the fuel tank in the heater.
- For first-time use or after refueling, allow the wick to soak in kerosene for at least 30 minutes to ensure full saturation before ignition.
Video 1: Demonstrates the process of fueling and preparing a kerosene heater for use. This includes opening the fuel cap, using a siphon to add kerosene, and allowing the wick to soak.
Video 2: Provides a step-by-step guide on how to install or replace the wick in a kerosene heater, ensuring proper fit and function.
4. Operation
4.1 Ignition
- Ensure the wick is fully saturated with kerosene.
- Rotate the ignition knob to the 'ON' or 'START' position.
- Press the ignition button to activate the matchless ignition. The wick should ignite. If it does not ignite immediately, release the button and try again.
- If the matchless ignition fails, you may manually light the wick using a long match or lighter through the designated opening.
4.2 Flame Adjustment
After ignition, allow the flame to stabilize for a few minutes. Use the flame adjustment knob to achieve the desired heat output. The flame should be a steady blue at the base with yellow tips. Avoid excessively high or low flames, as this can lead to incomplete combustion or reduced efficiency.

Video 3: Illustrates the ignition process and flame adjustment for a radiant kerosene heater, showing how to achieve optimal burning.
4.3 Extinguishing the Heater
To turn off the heater, rotate the ignition knob counter-clockwise to the 'OFF' position. The flame will extinguish. Wait until the flame is completely out before leaving the heater unattended.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Wick Replacement
The KW-11F features an easy wick change with a pin-style wick. Refer to the detailed instructions in the assembly guide or consult the manufacturer's website for specific steps on how to replace the wick. Regular wick maintenance ensures optimal performance and clean burning.
5.2 Cleaning
Keep the heater clean from dust and debris. Regularly wipe down the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Ensure the burner area is free from obstructions. Always ensure the heater is cool and unplugged (if applicable) before cleaning.
5.3 Storage
When storing the heater for extended periods, drain any remaining kerosene from the fuel tank. Store the heater in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Kero World KW-11F heater, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Heater will not ignite: Check if the wick is properly saturated with kerosene. Ensure batteries for the matchless ignition are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. If manual ignition is attempted, ensure the lighter/match reaches the wick.
- Flame is too high or too low: Adjust the flame using the flame adjustment knob. If the flame is consistently problematic, the wick may need cleaning or replacement.
- Unusual odor or smoke: Ensure proper ventilation. Verify that only 1-K grade kerosene is used. A slight odor may occur during initial use or after refueling. If persistent, check for proper wick installation and burner alignment.
- Heater shuts off unexpectedly: Check the fuel level. The tip-over safety feature may have activated if the heater was bumped or moved. Ensure the heater is on a stable surface.
