5. Cleaning and Maintenance

Proper cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your grill:

  • Remove Drip Tray: Empty and wash the drip tray after each use. It is dishwasher-safe.
  • Clean Grill Plate: The removable grill plate features a George Tough nonstick coating for easy cleaning. It is dishwasher-safe. For hand washing, use warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. Do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive cleaners.
  • Clean Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces of the grill and lid with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the electrical components (temperature control probe, cord, plug) in water.
  • Storage: Store the grill in a dry, safe place when not in use.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your grill, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Grill Not Heating: Ensure the temperature control probe is fully inserted and the grill is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check your household circuit breaker.
  • Uneven Cooking: Ensure the grill has fully preheated before adding food. The domed lid helps with even heat distribution; ensure it is properly seated during cooking.
  • Excessive Smoke/Spattering: This can occur with high-fat foods. Ensure the drip tray is in place and empty. If cooking indoors, ensure adequate ventilation.
  • Food Sticking: While the grill has a nonstick coating, ensure it is clean and free of residue from previous uses. Avoid using metal utensils that can scratch the nonstick surface.
