3. Powering On/Off
To power on the radio, rotate the Volume/On-Off knob clockwise. To power off, rotate it counter-clockwise until it clicks.
4. 12-Volt Vehicle Operation
For in-vehicle use, connect the supplied 12-volt power cord to the radio's power input jack and then to your vehicle's 12-volt accessory outlet (cigarette lighter socket).
Operating Instructions
1. Adjusting Volume
Rotate the Volume/On-Off knob to adjust the listening volume.
2. Selecting CB Channels
Use the Channel Up/Down buttons (typically on the side or front) to select your desired CB channel from 1 to 40. Channel 19 is commonly used for highway communication.
3. NOAA Weather Channels
Press the CB/WX button to switch between CB mode and Weather (WX) mode. In WX mode, use the Channel Up/Down buttons to cycle through the 10 available NOAA weather channels.
4. SoundTracker System

6. Dual Watch
To use Dual Watch:
- Select the first channel you wish to monitor.

8. Transmitting
To transmit, press and hold the Push-to-Talk (PTT) button located on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to listen.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior of the radio. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Care: Remove batteries if the radio will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- Storage: Store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Antenna: Ensure the antenna is securely attached but do not overtighten. Avoid bending or stressing the antenna.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power | Dead or incorrectly installed batteries; loose 12V connection. | Check battery polarity and charge; replace batteries; ensure 12V cord is firmly connected. |
| Poor reception/transmission | Antenna not attached; obstructions; low battery power; squelch set too high. | Attach antenna; move to an open area; replace batteries; adjust squelch control. |
| SoundTracker not effective | Excessive background noise; feature not activated. | Ensure ST button is pressed; try to reduce local noise sources. |
| Cannot hear weather channels | Not in WX mode; out of NOAA broadcast range. | Press CB/WX button to switch to WX mode; try different WX channels; check local NOAA coverage. |
