3. Setup

Before First Use

  1. Unpack all components and remove any packaging materials.
  2. Wash the inner cooking pan, steaming tray, glass lid, measuring cup, and spatula with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  3. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  4. Ensure the power cord is securely connected to the appliance and then to a suitable electrical outlet (120V, 500W).

4. Operation

Cooking Rice

  1. Measure Rice: Use the provided measuring cup to measure the desired amount of raw rice. For best results, use short grain white rice. The capacity is measured in approximately 6 oz / 180mL rice measuring cups.
  2. Wash Rice: Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch.
  3. Add Water: Place the washed rice into the inner cooking pan. Add water according to the markings inside the pan, corresponding to the number of rice cups used. For example, if you used 3 cups of rice, fill water to the '3' mark.
  4. Place Pan: Ensure the exterior of the inner pan is dry, then place it into the main unit.
  5. Close Lid: Place the glass lid securely on the rice cooker.
  6. Start Cooking: Plug in the power cord. Press the cooking switch down. The 'COOKING' indicator light will illuminate.
  7. Automatic Keep Warm: Once cooking is complete, the switch will automatically pop up, and the 'KEEP WARM' indicator light will illuminate. The rice cooker will automatically switch to keep-warm mode.
  8. Serve: Allow the rice to rest for 10-15 minutes in keep-warm mode before serving for optimal texture. Use the provided spatula to fluff and serve.

Steaming Food

  1. Prepare Water: Add water to the inner cooking pan. The amount of water depends on the food being steamed and desired steaming time. Ensure water does not exceed the steaming tray level.
  2. Place Food: Arrange food items in the steaming tray. Do not overcrowd the tray to allow for even steaming.
  3. Assemble: Place the steaming tray into the inner cooking pan.
  4. Close Lid: Place the glass lid securely on the rice cooker.
  5. Start Steaming: Plug in the power cord. Press the cooking switch down. The 'COOKING' indicator light will illuminate.
  6. Monitor: Monitor the food through the glass lid. Steaming times vary by food type.
  7. Finish: Once steaming is complete, manually lift the cooking switch to the 'OFF' position or unplug the unit. Carefully remove the lid, avoiding steam.
