List of Components:

4. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Clean: Before first use, wash the removable inner cooking pan, glass lid, measuring cup, and spatula with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  3. Placement: Place the rice cooker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
  4. Insert Inner Pan: Place the cleaned and dried non-stick inner cooking pan into the main rice cooker unit.

5. Operation

Cooking Rice:

  1. Measure Rice: Use the provided plastic measuring cup to measure the desired amount of uncooked rice. Note that this cup has a 6-ounce capacity, which is approximately 3/4 of a standard U.S. measuring cup. One 6-ounce cup of raw rice yields about 2 to 3, 6-ounce cups of cooked rice.
  2. Rinse Rice (Optional but Recommended): For best results and to remove excess starch, rinse the measured rice under cold running water until the water runs clear. Drain thoroughly.
  3. Add Rice to Inner Pan: Place the rinsed rice into the removable non-stick inner cooking pan.
  4. Add Water: Refer to the water level markings inside the inner pan. For each 6-ounce cup of uncooked rice, fill water up to the corresponding line (e.g., for 1 cup of rice, fill to the "1" line; for 3 cups, fill to the "3" line). This ensures optimal water-to-rice ratio.
  5. Place Inner Pan in Unit: Ensure the inner pan is properly seated in the main unit.
  6. Close Lid: Place the glass lid securely on the rice cooker. The lid features a steam exhaust hole.
  7. Plug In: Plug the power cord into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
  8. Start Cooking: Push the single switch control down to the "COOKING" position. The red "COOKING" indicator light will illuminate.
  9. Automatic Shut-off: The rice cooker will automatically switch from "COOKING" to "KEEP WARM" once the rice is done. The red light will turn off, and the orange "KEEP WARM" light will illuminate.
  10. Resting Period: For best results, allow the rice to rest in the "KEEP WARM" mode for an additional 10-15 minutes after cooking is complete. This allows the rice to fully absorb moisture and become fluffy.
  11. Serve: Use the provided non-stick rice spatula to fluff and serve the cooked rice.

Steaming:

This rice cooker can also be used for steaming. Place the food to be steamed in a heat-safe, steam-appropriate container (not included) on top of the rice or on a steaming rack (not included) if available. Ensure the water level in the inner pan is sufficient for steaming without boiling dry. Follow the cooking times appropriate for the food being steamed.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your rice cooker.

  1. Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the rice cooker from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Inner Pan and Lid: Hand wash the non-stick inner cooking pan and the glass lid with warm, soapy water. Use a soft sponge or cloth to avoid scratching the non-stick coating. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  3. Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Never immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  4. Spatula and Measuring Cup: Wash the plastic rice spatula and measuring cup with warm, soapy water and dry.
  5. Storage: Store the rice cooker in a clean, dry place when not in use.
