3. Insert Filter: Slide the new Filtrete filter into the slot, ensuring the arrow on the frame aligns with the direction of airflow. Do not cut or remove the cardboard frame.
4. Secure Filter: Ensure the filter is fully seated and secure within the slot to prevent air bypass.

Maintenance

Filter Replacement Frequency:

• It is recommended to change your Filtrete Micro Allergen Defense filter every THREE MONTHS (90 days).
• Certain conditions may necessitate more frequent changes, such as:
  • High levels of construction work or renovation in or near your home.
  • Presence of pets.
  • Increased dust or pollen levels in your environment.
  • If you notice reduced airflow or increased dust accumulation on surfaces.

A dirty filter can restrict airflow, potentially straining your HVAC system and reducing its efficiency. Inspect your filter monthly and replace it when it appears visibly dirty.

Troubleshooting

Reduced Airflow:

• If you experience reduced airflow after installing a new filter, ensure the filter is correctly oriented with the airflow arrow pointing towards the blower motor.
• Higher MPR filters, while effective at capturing small particles, can sometimes create more resistance to airflow in older or less powerful HVAC systems. If persistent airflow issues occur, consult your HVAC professional to ensure your system is compatible with MPR 1000 filters.
• A clogged filter will also restrict airflow. Check the filter's condition and replace it if it is dirty, even if it hasn't been 3 months.

Filter Damage:

• If the filter arrives damaged or becomes damaged during installation, do not use it. A damaged filter cannot effectively clean the air and may allow particles to bypass the filter media.
