3. Setup Instructions

1. Determine Dado Width: Use the provided slot width chart to determine the correct combination of blades, chippers, and spacers/shims for your desired dado width. For example, a 3/4" dado typically requires both outer blades, all three chippers, and two 1/16" spacers.
2. Assemble Dado Stack: Carefully place the components onto your table saw's arbor in the correct sequence, ensuring the teeth are oriented for proper rotation. The outer blades have a negative hook angle and are designed for clean cuts.
3. Install Dado Throat Plate: Replace your standard table saw throat plate with a dado-specific throat plate that accommodates the wider dado stack. Ensure the plate is flush with the table saw surface.
4. Adjust Blade Height: Raise the dado stack to the desired cutting height, ensuring it is appropriate for your material thickness.
5. Perform Test Cuts: Always make test cuts on scrap material to verify the dado width and depth before cutting your final workpiece. Adjust shims as needed for a perfect fit.

4. Operating Instructions

Follow these guidelines for safe and effective operation of your Freud 6" Pro Dado Set:

• Safety First: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and hearing protection. Ensure all guards are in place and functional.
• Material Compatibility: This dado set is suitable for hardwoods, softwoods, chipboard, plywood, and laminates. It is not recommended for non-ferrous metals or masonry.
