About the Author
William S. Brophy served in the U.S. Army during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. Following his military career, he pursued a second career in the firearms industry as a senior technical manager and company historian for The Marlin Firearms Company. His dedication to hunting and competitive shooting earned him numerous awards. He was a board member of the National Rifle Association and is inducted into the Connecticut Rifle and Pistol Associations Shooting Hall of Fame. His published works include The Krag Rifle, L. C. Smith Shotguns, and Plans and Specifications of the L. C. Smith Shotgun.
